Last week I spent quite a bit of time finishing up some decorating (all except for my big monster tree (which I will be working on this week) and the Christmas in the City lighted houses (which Chad will be working on this week!). I also finished up a lot of Holiday shopping! I have a few things left to make and order but I think I will be completely finished by Dec. 1!!!! I have never finished that early before and I'm quite excited to think of the extra time I'll have for doing some fun things with my children and husband.
This week's Holiday Inspiration Project requires using some supplies from your scrap stash and your family's photos. I fell in love with this wreath last year that I saw in one of the zillion catalogs that come through our mail during the holiday season (see below) but it was out of my price budget. For a year I have been wanting to create something similar to hang in our house during the holiday season and figured this was as good as time as any!
I gathered up some of the MM Charmed frames that have been gathering dust, some red ribbons and a prelit wreath I just purchased and got to work. I picked out some favorite recent photos (all within the last 4-5 months) and converted them to black and white, resized them and printed them right here at home. I glued each in place behind the frame and hot glued a piece of ribbon in place. After I was sure the glue had dried and tied each to my wreath and hung it in my dining room.
I think my wreath could use maybe a few more frames, so I will be adding to it this afternoon. And the cream wall does not do it justice. I so need to get my dining room painted!!!!
I so love being able to personalize a store-bought item with products straight from my studio!
If you create something, please feel free to share by posting a comment below!
Have a great day everyone! (only 42 shopping days until Christmas!)
