So I have been promising a blog reader that I would share my process for using the Spellbinders dies with the Sizzix Big Shot.
Not the actual die cutting (I'll show that too) but how I emboss with the Big Shot.
No extra Spellbinders mats needed.
I don't follow the Spellbinders instructions.
I never was a very good rule follower.
And I didn't want to purchase anything extra so I made this work for me.
And it can work for you too!
ETA: new photos. The first ones were taken at night with yucky shadows. These are much better.
The video below shows how I used the Spellbinders die with the Sizzix Big Shot and how I masked off the images with Inkadinkado Mask Material:
And these are the Copic Markers I used to color in my image:
To complete the card I folded a 4 1/4" x 11" sheet of kraft cardstock in half and stamped the front with the Hero Arts Stripes Cling Background Stamp using Desert Sand CTMH ink.
I stamped a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece of PTI Aqua Mist cardstock with the Hero Arts Flourish Cling Stamp using Versamark ink and added clear embossing powder and heat set it.
I added some PTI Aqua Mist ribbon and a button to the flourish stamped piece and adhered it to the card background as shown. I added a couple of decorative stick pins to complete the card.
The stamped piece was adhered with foam adhesive.

Miss Kerri Bradford is sharing yet another FREEBIE digi die cut download on her blog HERE. I know, she is awesome, isn't she?!!!! I just *heart* that girl and her talent. I will be making something with these this week. ;)
p.s. Don't forget that these files work on the Cricut, too! Does anyone have the SCAL or MTC software that allows them to use downloaded images from the net with their Cricut and would be willing to share how they used Kerri's designs on a project? I would love to see an example (or two...).
