I love, love, love the new Simon Says Stamp Mothers & Fathers 2014 Release and I love rainbow colors. So I thought, why not combine the two?!
I love the new Butterfly Drift Craft Die and thought they would be pretty in a rainbow of bright Distress Ink colors.
I die cut the Butterfly Drift Craft Die from white cardstock, saving the negative pieces and discarding the outline. I cut the die again from black cardstock saving the outline. I placed the outline into the cut out on the white background backing the cardstock with a sheet of vellum to have something to attach the outline to.
I pressed the Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks on my Ranger Craft Sheet, misted them heavily with water and used a paintbrush to splatter ink on the background.
I pounced Distress Inks onto the white butterfly die cut pieces and spritzed them with water from a Mini Mister to give them some fun texture and color variation! Once the butterfies were dry I colored over each butterfly with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker. I glued just the center to the vellum to keep the sense of "flight".
I stamped a greeting from the new Butterflies Stamp Set using SSS Black Ink. A little foam adhesive behind the decorated panel to attach it to the card base and the card is finished!
