I love the watercolor look but I am not really a free-handed artistic kind of girl. So when I want to "watercolor" I often try to find shortcuts or ways of creating the watercolor "look". I used stamps from the Simon Says Stamp May 2014 Card Kit Play to create these watercolor looking cards!
I used the large solid "hey!" greeting from the SSS All Boy Stamp Set, inked it up with an assortment or Ranger Distress Inks and misted it several times with water to get it really wet before stamping it on Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. The slightly messy, yet controlled, watercolor look with the repeating text makes for a fabulous background!
I stamped and embossed another greeting from the SSS All Boy Stamp Set and used the resist technique, applying a watercolor wash to the die cut shape and the embossed sentiment resisted the ink.
The SSS Life Bubble Vertical 2 Craft Die makes a great place to stamp a greeting. The SSS Black Cardstock border helps the greeting stand out from the text background.
Even though the Simon Says Stamp May 2014 Card Kit Play is a more masculine feeling card, I wanted to show how the exact same card looked using more feminine colors! I love the results!
Two simple, yet stunning cards that hardly take any time to make (just dry-time!).
Simon Says Stamp has generously offered me the opportunity to give a May 2014 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit away to one lucky recipient!

Have a great weekend!
I Love your blog and your tutorial!!! I am just now getting into using Tim Holtz and have just bought some from online... Excited about trying them out!!! I LOVE the card kit and could really use it!!! I have been trying to buy supplies this month since I don't have that much... I have so many other things I'm still trying to buy like the inks and stamp pads & stamps & punches, ect...So that would be a big help to me if I won that :)
