Today I have a card share showcasing some of my favorite Simon Says Stamp Cold Hands Warm Hearts Release Products. I just adore little village houses and the new Village Wafer Dies make for the perfect colorful snowy village scene! I paired the village images with a snowy landscape created with the Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies, the Falling Snow Stencial, glittery die cut hearts using the MIni Hearts Craft Dies and a stamped embossed greeting from the Peace On Earth Stamp Set.
I inked up the background using Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink applied with the Mini Ink Blending Tool. After I colored the "sky", I added some "snow" with white embossing paste and my most favoritest stencil ever, the Falling Snow Stencil.
I die cut the village houses and trees using the Village Wafer Dies. I used scissors to trim the bottom edges of these die cut pieces and then I inked up the pieces with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves. I backed the houses with SSS Lemon Chiffon Cardstock. It gives the houses the look of lights being on and that way you don't see the sky through the windows. It gives the village a more realistic look. I topped the village and trees with Glossy Accents and applied some chunky snow glitter to the top of each for that "snow-capped" look.
I die cut the snow border using a Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. I gently manipulated the large scripty greeting from the Peace On Earth Stamp Set to curve like the snowy border and then stamped it with Versamark Ink and heat embossed the greeting with gold embossing powder. I stamped the additional greeting below the embossed greeting using Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz Ink. I love that both greetings are stamped in gold but the textures differ where one is embossed.
I popped up the snow border and the village houses and trees with my favorite foam adhesive.
I finished the card with some glitter hearts die cut with the MIni Hearts Craft Dies.
