Welcome to Day 5 of my last minute Handmade Holiday 2014 Series!
This is the last day of the series. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has visited, commented and followed the series through my blog, youtube channel and Instagram. You have made this week so much fun! This week, I've shared elegant monogram tags, cute goodie/treat bags, zipper panel cards for giving gift cards (be sure to follow me on Instagram HERE where I shared another idea for a zipper panel card), elegant pretty packages created with the Silhouette Cameo and today we are going to round out the week with fun santa see-thru tags!
I don’t know about you, but fun packaging on a gift makes me super happy! These see-thru style tags created with the MFT Insert It Instaframe and santas from my favorite Jingle All The Way Stamp Set would be great for any little or big ones on your gift list and they can be used hung on the tree or displayed after the presents have been opened. Love that!
All this week I'll be sharing quick (an hour or less) Handmade Holiday ideas for cards, tags and gift wrapping sure to add that handmade touch we all love. Most ideas will include multiples (today I have 3 see-thru santa tags created in a little over an hour)!
To create my tags I die cut the Die-namics Insert It Frame from Wild Cherry Cardstock and Black Licorice Cardstock. I stamped the Wild Cherry frame with Wild Cherry Hybrid Ink using the Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp for a tone-on-tone effect. I stamped each with a greeting from the Jingle All The Way Stamp Set using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. Next, I stamped the Black Licorice frame with “to” and “from” from the Overflowing Joy Stamp Set using white pigment ink.
I cut six pieces of transparency measuring 2.75” square. I stamped each piece with the Confetti Background Stamp using white Staz-On Ink. By stamping all the transparency pieces and not just the ones for the front it gives the santas the illusion of “standing” in the snow! I adhered each transparency behind the opening in the frames.
I die cut the three santa images from white cardstock and Black Licorice Cardstock using the Jingle All the Way Die-namics. I colored in the santas with Copic Markers and adhered the colored santa to the Black Licorice die cut santa. This hides the coloring and makes the back of the see-thru tag look neat and clean.
I die cut some snow drifts from Whip Cream Cardstock using the Die-namics Snow Drifts, trimmed them down and adhered them to the black frame. I adhered a santa inside each frame and topped each with the red frame.
Copic Markers Used: R29, R39, RV99, C00, C1, C3 (santa suit), W1, W2, YG25, YG17, R29, R39 (list, package), E00, E11, E13, R20 (skin), C6, C8 (boots), C00, C1, C3 (hair)
Detail for eyes and cheeks: Sakura White Gel Pen and Sakura Stardust Black Gel Pen
Finally, I punched holes in the top of each see-thru tag, threaded some baker’s twine adorned with silver jingle bells through the hole and tied some white silk ribbon around the top to finish!

I know making mistakes is frustrating and time consuming, but thank you for showing them and talking about them. It's nice to know an expert sometimes has those things happen, since I often change colors because things don't look the way I envisioned, or make mistakes with stamping, etc. But at the end, your tags look great!
