Today's card was inspired by the patterned paper on the front of this card from the kit (Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6x6 Paper Pad) and the greeting I used from the Flip Flop Season Stamp Set. I knew I wanted to create some sort of summer sunshine/sky type of card and the Shaker Kit Die paired with the Martha Stewart confetti was the perfect compliment!
The front panel of the shaker/card was die cut using the inside piece for the Shaker Kit Die (window) and the largest Stitched Rectangle Die. A greeting from the Flip Flop Season Stamp Set was stamped on the front using SSS Black Ink and another greeting stamped on a scrap of Cream Cardstock from the kit, trimmed and adhered below the other stamped greeting.
The frame for the kite and one of the bows was die cut from the MME Tropical Bay Cardstock from the kit using the Shaker Kit Die. I die cut additional bows from the Carrot Stick and Imperial Red shimmery cardstocks from the kit. The inside pieces for the kite shaker were die cut from patterned papers included in the kit.
Using the cut outs in the front panel, I adhered the inside kite pieces to the shaker backing. The kite shaker front was backed with a piece of transparency, then the kite frame was adhered to the front of the shaker. Then the string and bows were glued in place.
On the back of the shaker, foam adhesive was places around the kit to "frame it up" and provide a secure frame for the confetti shaker material. The rest of the shaker front was filled in with foam adhesive as well. Powder around the inside edges of the shaker well will help the shaker material from sticking to the sides. The shaker was filled with the confetti and then the backer was adhered to the shaker front and I adhered the whole thing to a card base.
Puffy cloud stickers from the October Afternoon Summertime stickers complete the design.
