For my card share today I've created a "framed up" summer beach/flip flops scene showcasing the components from the August Kit and exclusive dies and inks from the Simon Says Stamp Splash of Color Release!
The "postage stamp" inlay style layer was created by die cutting the largest Postage Stamp Die and the skinny frame from the Frames Die Collection from one of the patterned papers in the kit and then die cutting the skinny frame from the red cardstock in the kit. I pieced them together and adhered them to a Cream Cardstock card base.
The beach scene inlay frame was die cut from the Cream Cardstock included in the kit using the new Hello Sunshine Frame Die, being careful to keep every single little piece. From the inside part of the frame, I die cut "waves" using the smallest Wavy Scallop Stitches border die.
The "sand" was colored in using the Mini Ink Blending Tool and Khaki Ink. The "waves" were colored with the Spring Rain Ink, Scuba Ink, and High Dive Ink. The word "summer" was colored in with the Melon Ink and Apricot Ink. I added a layer of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker over the word "summer". Each piece was replaced inside the frame to complete the frame inlay.
The flip flops from the Flip Flop Season stamp set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, detail was added with the Sakura White Gel Pen, and then each flip flop was fussy cut and adhered to the frame.
I added dot detailing to the sand with the Sakura White Gel Pen and the Stardust Glitter Pen. The greeting from the Flip Flop Season stamp set was stamped underneath the frame using Black Ink and a sticker from the October Afternoon Summertime Pillow Puffs Sticker Sheet.
