Welcome to Day 2 of my last minute Handmade Holiday 2015 Series!
I'm back with another year of last minute handmade ideas! Even with the craziness of the season I like to be able to add handmade touches to gifts for our friends and family. All this week I'll be sharing quick (an hour or less) Handmade Holiday ideas for cards, tags and gift wrapping sure to add that handmade touch we all love. Most ideas will include multiples (today I created a set of 3 vellum gift bags).... gotta love that!
In addition to sharing Handmade Holiday projects all week, I am extending this year's series by two days for a total of seven days of inspiration! Plus, I am especially excited to share that after reaching out to several companies and online stores, there are amazing GIVEAWAYS each and every day plus a great coupon code from Ellen Hutson that you can use all week long at EllenHutson.com! Use coupon code handmadeholidays for 10% off all in-stock items between December 14-17.
VELLUM REINDEER GOODIE BAGS
During last year's Handmade Holiday Series I created a trio of kraft goodie bags using the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag Die that were one of my most popular projects. When I was considering what kind of goodie bags to make for this year's series (because these gift bags are usable, useful and always needed!), I decided to use my favorite die again but this time to make vellum goodie bags. The see-thru quality of the vellum goodie bags gives a lovely, elegant look to these fun gift bags. I always love the look of store-bought see-thru bags and wanted to duplicate that look with my vellum gift bags. Make sure and use good quality (I used 40lb. weight) vellum for sturdy bags.
To create the goodie bags, I first die cut vellum using the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag Die. Each bag requires you to use the die twice, fold the pieces on the score lines and assemble. I left each panel flat and added some stamping to the front and back of the panels using the Snowy Backdrops Die and Cotton White StazOn Ink before folding up the goodie bags and securing them together with some 1/4" Double Sided Adhesive Tape.
I die cut six circle tags from smooth white cardstock using one of the Stitched Circle Tag Dies. On three of the tags I stamped one of the reindeer from the Toboggan Together Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. On the remaining three tags,
I stamped "to" and "from" and holly from the Winter Tags Stamp Set. I colored in the holly images with Copic Markers as well and then adhered a reindeer tag and "to"/"from" tag back to back with adhesive. A red, pearl gemstone adds a fun touch to the nose on each of the reindeer.
To finish each of the bags, I slipped Red Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Twine through the top of the tag and threaded silver jingle bells on the twine before knotting to secure. I added white chenille ribbon to each bag and tied the twine through the ribbon before adding some pretty red tissue paper to each bag.

I never would have thought that vellum would have held up to make bags but these seem to do the trick. I can't wait to try.

This project I could actually try because I have the goody bag and tag die. I had to use a different stamp but they actually turned out quite good, not quite as cute as yours because I don't have your creative flair but I was quite happy with them. thanks again for sharing all your projects!

I wish I had seen these vellum bags earlier. They would have been awesome for Secret Santa gifts. I think I will be making them for next year. They would be cute for Halloween too! Thanks for the year in review!!
