Simon Says Stamp Reason To Smile Release NOW AVAILABLE

Mama Elephant | Unicorns & Rainbows Card

Hello! My 40 year old self 10 year old Rainbow Brite loving self is squealing with delight over the Mama Elephant Unicorns & Rainbows Stamp Set and coordinating dies and the Rainbow High Dies. I mean, who doesn't love rainbows and unicorns? All this talk about rainbows makes me wish I could find my Rainbow Brite coloring book from when I was a kid. I could have sworn my mom kept that somewhere!

To create my card background scene, I die cut the Dotted Detail Frame and Rainbow High Dies from watercolor cardstock. I applied Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass, and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to the pieces with the Mini Ink Blending Tool before spritzing everything with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotting dry with a paper towel.

I stamped the unicorn and cake images from the Unicorns & Rainbows Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I die cut the images with the coordinating Rainbow High dies. I added detail to the wings with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker and detail to the eye with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen.

I stamped the greeting from the Unicorns & Rainbows Stamp Set along the bottom of the "sky" panel using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I adhered the die cut and stamped images to build the scene and trimmed off any excess before adhering the panel to a top fold card base and gluing the frame around the scene.

Lawn Fawn | Mom + Me "Grandma" Card

Welcome to the February Inspiration and Release Week!

I hope you all have enjoyed the last few days as much as I have! Tomorrow the Lawn Fawn Release goes LIVE! Yay!

 The Lawn Fawn Mom + Me Stamp Set and coordinating dies is one of my most favorites from the new release. Cute critters that are great for not only moms and grandmas but for all sort of occasions that call for using cute critters! Keeping with my promise to incorporate more forms of coloring other than Copic Markers, today's sweet images were stamped and/or colored with Distress Inks and Markers! I love the soft look watercoloring gives these no-line colored images.

To create the background of my card, I die cut a Stitched Square Frame from watercolor cardstock twice. From one of the "inside" square pieces I die cut a hillside using one of the new Simple Stitched Hillside Borders Dies.

I added a blue "sky" to the inside square and part of the frame using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I applied Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Inks to the landscape and part of the frame and then spritzed all of it with water from a Distress Sprayer. I let the water droplets sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted the pieces dry with a paper towel.

I stamped the grass from the Mom + Me Stamp Set on watercolor cardstock using a combination of Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks and blending out any areas that didn't stamp clearly with a paintbrush dipped in water.

I stamped the fox images on watercolor cardstock with Antique Linen Distress Ink and painted the images with Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs Distress Markers and Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I die cut the images with the coordinating Mom + Me Dies and added detail to the eyes and noses with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen.

I stamped the greeting from the Mom + Me Stamp Set on the landscape border using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I adhered the inside scene and frame to a top fold card base trimmed down to 4 1/4" square.

Lawn Fawn | Rainbow Cardstock (Balloons Card)

Welcome to the February Inspiration and Release Week!

I'm tickled that Lawn Fawn has released a pack of gorgeous Rainbow Cardstock! I used six colors on the cardstock with the awesome Party Balloons Dies and a Stitched Rectangle Frames Die for this simple balloon card. A bit of Distress Ink applied to each balloon gives a bit more interest to the balloons. A simple stamped greeting and a scattering of pretty gold confetti adds just enough to this fun card!

I die cut the balloons from Rainbow Cardstock colors using the Party Balloons Dies and applied Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks to the balloons. I die cut the balloon strings from the same colors of cardstock and die cut the balloon "highlight" pieces from smooth white cardstock, adhering those to several of the balloons.

I die cut smooth white cardstock and black Rainbow Cardstock using the largest Stitched Rectangle Frames Die. On the inside white panel I stamped a greeting with Black Licorice Ink using a combination of phrases from the Just For You Stamp Set and Mom + Me Stamp Set.

I adhered the balloons to the white panel and then adhered the balloon strings as shown. I trimmed any excess from the panel and then adhered it and the black frame to a side fold card base.

I finished the card with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Mini Star Confetti using Ranger Multi Medium.

Mama Elephant February 2016 Stampede | Labeled Messages "I Love You" Card

 

Welcome to the Mama Elephant February Stampede Blog Hop!

Our newest release is now live and available for purchase in the store. 
 
The darling new Carried Away stamped images pair so well with a number of greetings from the Labeled Messages Stamp Set. I created a love-themed scene pairing these sweet stamped images with the Madison Avenue Frame Die and cloudy Landscape Trio Die. The shades of pink Distress Ink made for a great pink and hearts card but you could change up the theme so easily by changing up the colors.

I stamped the images from the Carried Away Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the images with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The color combinations I used are shown below:

BALLOON: 200, 025

GIRL: 072, 071, 028, 200, 025, 021, 022, 902, 064, 062

BOY: 072, 071, 028, 021, 022, 902, 097, 062

Once the ink dried, I die cut the images with the coordinating Carried Away Dies. I added detail to the eyes with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen.

I die cut the frame and background from watercolor cardstock using the Madison Avenue Frame Die. I cut it twice. From one of the inside rectangles I die cut a cloud border using the cloudy Landscape Trio Die. I also die cut the frame from vellum and die cut another cloudy border. I applied Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks to the watercolor frame,  background, and cloud border. I spritzed the pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted it dry with a paper towel.

To add to the love theme of the design I added stamped hearts from the Confetti Stamp Set using the Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks.

I die cut a frame from Fun Foam to give the frame a bit of dimension under the Distress Inked frame and then assembled the scene as shown. I stamped the "I Love You" greeting from the Labeled Messages Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and cut out the greeting and adhered it to the bottom edge of the card.

I finished the design by adhering some Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Heart Confetti using Ranger Multi Medium.

Lawn Fawn | "Owl Love You Always" Tote Bag

Welcome to the February Inspiration and Release Week!

I just love the Lawn Fawn Tote Bag die. These are just the perfect size for gift cards, small gifts, or little treats. So. Much. Fun. You can decorate these sweet little bags with anything and it turns out perfect. I paired the Tote Bag with sweet images and greetings from the Mom + Me Stamps and Dies. I die cut the bag from Perfectly Plaid 6x6 paper and a border from the Lawn Fawn Cardstock using a Simple Stitched Hillside Border Die.

I stamped the tree stump, grass and heart from the Mom + Me Stamp Set using Walnut Ink, Jalepeno Ink, and Lobster Ink and then die cut the images with the coordinating Mom + Me Dies.

The owl was stamped with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink on Bristol Smooth Cardstock and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut with the Mom + Me Die. I added detail to the eyes with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and Glossy Accents to the beaks. I also added Glossy Accents to the heart.

I die cut the bag from Perfectly Plaid 6x6 paper using the Tote Bag Die. I die cut a border from green Lawn Fawn Cardstock using a Simple Stitched Hillside Border Die.

The greeting from the Mom + Me Stamp Set was stamped on black Lawn Fawn Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed the greeting and heart with white embossing powder and red embossing powder. I die cut the greeting with a banner from the Everyday Sentiment Borders Die Collection.

I assembled the Tote Bag and then adhered the scene to the bag before finishing with some pretty blue silk ribbon.

Lawn Fawn | "I Am Missing You" Card (Loads of Fun)

Welcome to the February Inspiration and Release Week!

The Lawn Fawn Loads of Fun Stamps and Dies are one of my favorites from the release. I created a birthday card during the CHA Sneak Week using this stamp set and today I created a "missing you" card using the same images! Such a fun set. I used the socks image with one sock outside of the washing machine to support the "miss you" theme of the card.

I stamped the images from the Loads of Fun Stamp Set using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in the images with Copic Markers. The color combinations I used are shown below:

WASHING MACHINE: W00, W1, W5, W8, BG10

SOCKS & LAUNDRY: R00, R01, R02

BASKET: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG18

I die cut the images with the coordinating Loads of Fun Dies. I applied Glossy Accents to the buttons on the washing machine and the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Marker to the bubbles and the Sakura Black Glaze Pen to the eyes on the socks.

For the background, I die cut a Stitched Square Frame from smooth white cardstock. On the center square, I applied Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink going gradually from dark to light. I used the Simon Says Stamp Large Dots Stencil and the same ink to apply a tone on tone background.

I die cut the frame again from Fun Foam. I created a card from smooth white cardstock by trimming cardstock to 4 1/2" x 9" and scoring it in half. I applied the Fun Foam frame to the card front and replaced the Distress Inked background to the card. Then I applied the die cut frame to the top of the Fun Foam. I adhered the images to the panel.

I stamped a greeting from the Loads of Fun Stamp Set on Lawn Fawn Black Cardstock using Versamark Ink and embossed the greeting with white embossing powder. I die cut the greeting using a Extra Sentiment Banners Die and adhered the banner to the card as shown.

Lawn Fawn | Fairy Friends Thank You Card

Welcome to the February Inspiration and Release Week!

Today I did a little no line coloring with the new Fairy Friends Stamp Set and coordinating Dies, finishing the scene with the large Stitched Rectangle Frame Die. These sweet fairies and flowers make me long for Spring!

I stamped the fairies and flowers from the Fairy Friends Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Antique Linen Distress Ink and colored in the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils, blending the coloring with Gamsol and Stump Pencils. The individual colored pencils I used for each image are listed below for easy reference:

  • BLUE FAIRY: PC1085, PC1013, PC905, PC992, PC942, PC941
  • PURPLE FAIRY: PC1085, PC1013, PC1009, PC995, PC946, PC941
  • PEACH FLOWERS: PC1001, PC927, PC1005, PC1090
  • SUNFLOWERS: PC914, PC940, PC941, PC1005, PC1090
  • PURPLE FLOWERS: PC934, PC994, PC1005, PC1090

I colored in the fairy wings with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker for a bit of sparkle and glimmer. Once the images were colored I die cut them with the coordinating Fairy Friends Dies.

I die cut watercolor cardstock with the large Stitched Rectangle Frame Die four times. From one of the inside rectangles I die cut a grass border using a Meadow Borders Die. On one of the rectangles, I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink lightly. On the grass border I applied Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. I spritzed both with water from the Distress Sprayer and blotted the pieces dry with a paper towel.

Once the background and border were completely dry (I hit mine with a heat tool to speed up the drying time), I stamped the greeting and "sparkly" images from the Fairy Friends Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.

I assembled the scene using a combination of medium and bling Zots Glue Dots. I adhered one frame to a side fold card base and then adhered the center scene. I layered three more frames one on top of another for dimension to finish the card.

Lawn Fawn | Happy Anniversary Floral Card

Today I'm happy to be sharing a pretty floral card showcasing the Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms Stamps and Dies stamped in white pigment ink on khaki cardstock and colored with Prismacolor colored pencils. Such an easy technique and one of my favorites!

To create my card I die cut a circle from khaki cardstock using the largest Small Stitched Circle Die and stamped the floral collage from the Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms Stamps on the top and bottom of the circle using the Lawn Fawn Yeti white pigment ink. I colored in the florals with Prismacolor colored pencils. The combinations of pencils I used are shown below:

  • PINK FLOWERS: PC930, PC993
  • RED FLOWERS: PC925, PC924
  • GREENERY: PC1090,  PC912, PC1005

I stamped the banner from the Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms Stamps and the greeting from the Sophie's Sentiments Stamp Set on khaki cardstock using white pigment ink. I die cut the banner with the coordinating Penelope's Blossoms Dies. I colored in the heart with the PC924 colored pencil.

For the frame, I die cut smooth white cardstock using the largest Large Stitched Circle Die and the largest Small Stitched Circle Die to create a frame. I die cut Fun Foam using the same two dies.

I created a card base from khaki cardstock and scored the card in half at the top. I grouped florals from the Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms Stamp Set on an acrylic block and stamped the front of the card base with the florals using the white pigment ink. 

I adhered the colored in florals circle to the card base and then applied a thin line of glue around the circle and secured the Fun Foam frame around the circle and adhered the white cardstock frame on top to complete the frame. I added two layers of foam adhesive under the banner and secured it between the two floral sections in the framed circle.
