Happy Friday friends! I'm guest designing over on the Sunny Studio Blog today. I am sharing one of the two cards I created today and the other tomorrow. I paired the adorable Sunny Studio Backyard Bugs Stamps and coordinating dies with a Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames Die and Lawn Fawn Meadow Borders Die.
The images from the Sunny Studio Backyard Bugs Stamps Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The color combinations for each of the images is broken down below:
MUSHROOMS: Carmine Red, Light Carmine, Beige, Dark Brown, Mustard, Yellow
CATEPILLAR: Carmine Red, Light Carmine, Orange, Yellow, Yellow Green, May Green, Light Blue, Cornflour Blue, Violet, Light Violet
PURPLE FLOWER AND FLOWER POT: Violet, Light Violet, May Green, Yellow Green, Yellow, Beige, Brown
LADYBUG: Carmine Red, Light Carmine, Pale Gray, Dark Gray
BUMBLEBEE: Yellow, Pale Gray, Dark Gray
SMALL FLOWERS AND LEAVES: Carmine Red, Orange, May Green, Yellow Green, Yellow
The images were die cut with the coordinating Backyard Bugs Dies. I added detail to the eyes and antenna with the Sakura Black Glaze Pen and added glitter to the bumblebee wings with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen.
For the background scene I die cut a window from watercolor cardstock using a Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames Die. For the sky I applied Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. I applied Carved Pumpkin and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks to the "sun". From another piece of watercolor cardstock I die cut grass using a Lawn Fawn Meadow Borders Die and applied Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron to the border. I spritzed all three pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted the pieces dry with a paper towel.
When the background pieces were dry I stamped a greeting on the curve of the "sun" using a greeting from the Sunny Studio Backyard Bugs Stamps Set using the Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I stamped the bee "trail" with the black ink, too.
I adhered the "sun" to a side fold card base. I adhered the blue sky panel using foam adhesive, then I adhered the rest of the pieces to the card to complete the scene. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Droplets and Sparkling Clear sequins finished the design.
