Hello! Halloween will be here before we know it and these cute little ghosts from last year's Booyah Stamp Set part of the Lawn Fawn Fall/Winter release are just too cute and make the perfect accents for this hauntingly beautiful background created with the Leafy Tree Backdrop Portrait and Picket Fence Dies. Custom inking of the background and die cut elements with Distress Inks and coloring in the sweet stamped images with a combination of Distress Markers and a great watercolored look to the design.
I die cut the Leafy Tree Backdrop Portrait and Picket Fence Die from watercolor cardstock. I also trimmed a background panel from watercolor cardstock, measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". On the background panel, I stamped a greeting and the spider web from the Booyah Stamp Set with Versamark Ink and heta embossed with white embossing powder. I blended Wilted Violet and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks and then spritzed the pieces with water from a Distress Sprayer, let it sit for about 20 seconds and blotted it dry with a paper towel. The embossed areas resist the ink. I stamped the spider from the Booyah Stamp Set with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice Ink and set the background aside.
I used post it tape to mask off the frame and inked up the tree with Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso Distress Inks. I switched the masks and inked up the frame and fence with Black Soot Distress Inks. I spritzed the frame with water from a Distress Sprayer, let it sit for about 20 seconds and blotted it dry with a paper towel. I love coloring all white die cut pieces with Distress Inks!
I assembled the background scene and then stamped the ghosts and accessories from the Booyah Stamp Set on watercolor cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I colored in the stamped images with a combination of Distress Markers and a water brush for a soft watercolored look. Once the images were completely dry I die cut them with the coordinating Booyah Dies.
I finished assembling the scene and adhered the panel to a top fold card base to complete the design.
