Hello and welcome to the Lawn Fawn Summer Release and May Inspiration Week! I can't wait to show you what's in store with this fantastic new release! Each time Lawn Fawn comes out with a new release I swear it's my favorite but I'm telling you friends, this one is my favorite release ever!
Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is featuring the brand new Ahoy, Matey Stamp Set and coordinating dies! I paired these freaking adorable images with the new Ocean Hillside Pop Up Add On (for a pop up inside the card), Palm Trees Dies, and Outside In Stitched Rectangles (the stitching line is both inside and outside the cutting line!). In addition to all the new goodness, I grabbed some of my older favorites like the Stitched Hillside Borders, Ocean Wave Borders, and Stitched Hillside Pop Up to really make this scene card, well, POP!
To build the scene for the front of my card, I first die cut three rectangles from Bristol Smooth Cardstock with a new Outside In Stitched Rectangle Die. From one of the rectangles I die cut two sand or "beach" borders using Stitched Hillside Borders dies. From another rectangle I die cut two Ocean Wave Borders.
On the sand for the forefront of the card, I stamped greeting from the Ahoy, Matey Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks were applied to the two sand/beach borders, Salty Ocean Distress Ink was applied to the Ocean Wave Borders, and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink was applied to the background "sky" rectangle. All pieces were spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer before being blotted dry with a paper towel.
The Palm Trees were die cut from a scrap of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and the trunks were inked up with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and Ground Espresso Distress Ink. The top of the trees were colored with Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks.
The borders and trees were adhered to create the background scene as shown.
The ship, pirates, treasure chest, coins, map, and parrot from the Ahoy, Matey Stamp Set were stamped on Neenah Smooth White Cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink and colored in with Copic Markers before being die cut with the coordinating Ahoy, Matey dies. I adhered the images to the scene to finish the front of the card.
For the inside of the card, two more Outside In Stitched Rectangles were die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock. One rectangle was inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to serve as the sky on the inside of the card. The other rectangle was cut with a Stitched Hillside Border Die for the sandy beach and inked with Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks. An additional greeting and the big "X" from Ahoy, Matey were stamped on the sand.
A pop up was die cut from smooth white cardstock using the Stitched Hillside Pop Up die. Ocean Hillside Pop Up Add Ons were die cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock and inked with Salty Ocean Distress Ink before being adhered to the pop up as shown.
The inside of the card was finished with more Palm Trees and images from the Ahoy, Matey Stamp Set to make the inside just as fun as the outside of this pirate-themed card!
