Hello! Today I'm sharing a coupe of ways to use embossing paste with stencils. I'm using the gorgeous new Circular Lace Stencil from Simon Says Stamp but you can achieve similar looks with many different stencil designs. I'm pairing the new stencil with the previously released Stripe Greetings Stamp Set and On The Edge Thank You Die. Let's get started!
The first technique I'm sharing today is applying white embossing paste through the stencil over a Distress Inked background (the card on the right). Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, and Wilted Violet Distress Inks were adhered to Bristol Smooth Cardstock using a Mini Ink Blending Tool, spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer, and blotted dry with a paper towel. White Embossing Paste was applied through the Circular Lace Stencil for a soft and beautiful look. The thin layer of embossing paste almost picks up a bit of the color underneath for a fantastic look of texture.
The second technique is to add color to white embossing paste with those same Distress Ink colors and to apply the colored embossing paste through the Circular Lace Stencil for a colorful design on a white background.
*Make sure when you're creating with embossing paste that you clean your stencil and tools right away with hot water to keep the paste from drying onto your tools.
Once the backgrounds were completely dry (they dry really quickly), I die cut part of the greeting from white and black cardstock using the On The Edge Thank You Die and finishing the greetings with a stamped sentiment from the Stripe Greetings Stamp Set.
Simple greetings and an assortment of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Carnation Pink, Ripened Pumpkin, Dandelion Yellow, and Sweet Lilac finish these cards.
