Welcome to the World Cardmaking Day Blog Hop featuring Honey Bee Stamps and Chibitronics!
Interactive light up cards are so fun and can be pretty easy to create with the Chibitronics Light Up Kit. Today I'm sharing a Christmas-themed card with a light up greeting and snowflakes! Let's get started...
The front panel of the card was stamped with a greeting, falling snow, and snowflakes from the Let It Snow Stamp Set and the snow border from the Flakey Friends Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. The snow border was masked off with masking paper and the background was inked with Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks. Water from a Distress Sprayer was spritzed over the background and the embossed areas were gently wiped clean with a dry paper towel. An additional sentiment from the Flakey Sentiments Stamp Set was stamped below the white embossed greeting using Versafine Black Ink. The background was die cut using an A2 Double Stiched Frame.
The snowman, flying birds, and stars from the Let It Snow Stamp Set and the standing bird from the Acorn Sisters Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using black ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Let It Snow and Acorn Sisters Dies. The images were adhered to the background as seen.
Small holes were poked through two of the snowflakes and the holes in the word "snow" using a straight pen. These holes will allow the Chibi lights to shine through easily.
Two layers of foam tape around the light-up circuit will make the top panel almost flush with the battery. If you want to do a push button light up, three layers of foam tape work best. I went with two layers, with a pull tab that will allow the light up to work when removed from the card.
A banner was die cut from Chili Pepper Cardstock using the Let It Snow dies and stamped with a greeting from the Let It Snow Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder before behing adhered along the bottom edge of the scene as shown.
