Hello friends!
Welcome to 2018 and my very first brand new project of the year, these die cut love-themed card featuring the awesome January 2018 Small Die of the Month Club dies from Spellbinders! For only $7.50 a month + shipping you get an amazing little set of dies and today I wanted to show how versatile and amazing these dies can be! What I love is for a small investment, you get a set new set of dies to add to your crafty stash each month.
Although I could have gone with a more traditional pink and red color scheme for Valentine's Day, I'm a huge fan of ivory and gold and decided to make my cards more love-themed and elegant. These cards not only would work for Valentine's Day but also for a wedding or just to say "I Love You". I stamped greetings and one background with stamps I had in my stash but otherwise used only the dies from the January 2018 Small Die of the Month Club and even incorporated some wooden embellishments that I've had in my stash forever! Let's get started...
My first card share with the January 2018 Small Die of the Month Club features a dimensional die cut heart with inlay. This is one of those techniques that gives a "wow" factor but is really so easy. I die cut the heart die from Vanilla Malt cardstock and stamped the large scripty greeting from the Mama Elephant Wishing You Stamp Set in the center using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with gold embossing powder. Next, I stamped another piece of Vanilla Malt cardstock with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I adhered the stripe background to a white side fold card base.
I adhered a piece of gold foil cardstock to Fun Foam backed with Stick It Adhesive on both side and die cut the heart die again. I adhered the dimensional heart die frame and stamped greeting insert onto the stripe background as shown.
An additional greeting was stamped on Paper Bag Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. The sentiment was cut into a thin strip and adhered to the card with foam adhesive as shown. I finished the design with a scattering of wooden heart embellishments from my stash.
My next card features a simple metallic gold watercolored background with die cut embellishments and a stamped and embossed greeting.
I applied the yellow gold Gansai Tambi Starry Colors watercolor to Canson Watercolor Cardstock with the Silver Black Velvet 8 Brush and water for an ombre effect. Once completely dry, I stamped greetings from the Mama Elephant Cross My Heart Stamp Set using Versamark Ink and heat embossing with gold embossing powder and white embossing powder. Additional paint was flicked over the dried background using the Silver Black Velvet 4 paintbrush. Once dry, I die cut the leaf heart from Gold Glitter Cardstock and adhered it around the greeting. The arrow was die cut from leftover gold foil cardstock adhered to fun foam from the first card project.
The design was finished with a scattering of wood heart embellishments.
For my final card share, I created an all over die cut background using the four floral dies from the January 2018 Small Die of the Month Club.
The flowers and leaves were die cut from Gold Glitter Cardstock and adhered to Vanilla Malt cardstock. Greetings from the Mama Elephant Cross My Heart Stamp Set were stamped on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I scored the two long side of the strip with the Scor Pal and adhered the strip to the background as shown. The design was finished with a wooden heart embellishment.

Nichol, these projects are fabulous. I love the colours used - so much more classy than red I think. I am not a smooshy type of
person but I would be over the moon to receive any of these cards. Thank you for demonstrating so many different techniques
whilst you were putting these cards together. How versatile is this small die of the month from Spellbinders. I am so glad to see that you are using your old resources
with this new die Nichol, that is the only way we can use up our supplies. :O)
