Hello! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite interactive card designs, a magic color slider, just in time for Valentine's Day! The Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider paired with Octopi My Heart Stamps and coordinating dies, Mermaid For You Stamps and coordinating dies, and even the adorable little Duh-Nuh Fish Stamp and coordinating die make this pink underwater ocean scene a fun take on a love-themed card!
I started by die cutting the components for the Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider from Ballet Slippers Cardstock, smooth white cardstock, and Judikins Embossable Plastic for the slider window. Images from the Octopi My Heart Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock for the inside of the slider and then colored in with Copic Markers. The slider works best with a smooth surface inside, meaning no die cut elements to get caught on. I colored in the background of the slider, too, to really make the octopus pop!
The window of the magic color slider was stamped with the same images (using a stamp positioner tool really helps with keeping the placement perfect) on the acetate window using black Staz On ink. The pull tab of the slider was stamped with a sentiment from the Push Here Stamp Set.
The magic color slider was assembled and the edges of the element inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.
The background was created by die cutting Ballet Slippers Cardstock with an Outside In Stitched Rectangle Die and adding waves with the Ocean Wave Accents Die. I inked the edges with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.
Seaweed and coral images from the Mermaid For You Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Ballet Slippers, Plastic Flamingo, and Lobster Inks. Additional underwater critters and heart images from the Octopi My Heart Stamp Set, Mermaid For You Stamp Set, and Duh-Nuh Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Octopi My Hearts Dies, Mermaid For You Dies, and Duh-Huh Dies.
The images and magic color slider were adhered to the background as shown and additional hearts and water bubbles from the Octopi My Heart Stamp Set were stamped on the card and colored in or embellished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White.
A banner was die cut from vellum using a Fancy Folded Banner Die and stamped with sentiments from the Octopi My Heart Stamp Set and heat embossed with rouge and white embossing powders. The banner was adhered below the heart magic color slider window opening as shown.
The panel was adhered to a white top fold card base to finish the design.
