Today I'm so excited to share my first card using the Simon Says Stamp April 2018 Card Kit, Beautiful Day. I used the stamp set from the kit to stamp and emboss a custom background and then watercolored the images and background with Zig clean Color Real Brush Markers for "stained glass" looking butterflies! An envelope liner was die cut from some of the patterned paper in the kit to coordinate with the design.
The images and a greeting from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The butterflies and leaves were colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen and a watercolor wash was added to the background to help the images "pop" off the page.
Picket Fence and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Paints were watered down and flicked over the background for distressing. I let the paint completely air dry before finishing the card.
An additional greeting from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock with Versamark Ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the card design with foam adhesive squares.
The design was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White, Key Lime, Strawberry Coulis, and Sea Breeze.
An envelope liner was die cut from some of the Really Rainbow patterned paper included in the kit using the Envelope Liner die and adhered inside the Brilliant Ultra White Envelope. I love the pop of color inside the envelope.

I love the way you did this card it's gorgeous! One little thing the black of sentiment was to harsh for me it detracted from the beauty of the rest of the card.
