Welcome to the Lawn Fawn April Inspiration Week!
Today the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing the new Happy Happy Happy Add On Stamp Set and coordinating die and Mini Pop Up Butterflies Dies. I used both the partial die cut butterflies (pop up) with the full die cut butterflies on an ink smooshed background with a simple stamped sentiment for my card share. Simple and easy and would work for so many different occasions! Love that!
I die cut the Mini Pop Up Butterflies Dies from a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock creating butterflies from the top of the panel to the bottom. I made sure to leave room for a stamped greeting later on.
I applied Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Inks to a easy clean mat, spritzed them liberally with water, picked up the ink with a piece of stamp packaging, and then "smooshed" it on the die cut background. I kept playing with this technique until I got the ink to look the way I wanted it to and then I sped up the drying process using a heat tool.
Greetings from the Happy Happy Happy Add On Stamp Set were stamped in the bottom right corner of the design with black ink.
Butterfly layers were die cut from vellum using the full die cut Mini Pop Up Butterflies Dies. The bodies of the butterflies were die cut from Black Glitter Cardstock. The vellum layer and butterfly body were glued to each pop up butterfly as shown.
The panel was adhered to a white top fold card base and finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White, Carnation Pink, Ripened Pumpkin, Dandelion Yellow, Green Apple, Caribbean Ocean, and Crushed Grape.

I envy your pretty colours smooshing as what ever I try I end up with a full brown colour and mine look like my niece can do much better at playgroup, it's embarrassing !
Your butterflies are stunning with the overcoat of vellum, very pretty look. Off to keep smoothing like you showed, fingers crossed x

I really love this card - the white behind is also just right. Your Mom will love it.
May I suggest that your kiddos put their baby finger print in a colorful ink and press it inside, then you draw fast sketchy wings and body and antenna onto their prints and let them sign above each their own butterfly. I know I would love to get that from my grands.

Great card Nichol. I really like how you kept the muddy part in and kept going with a fix. Sometimes I watch people's videos and they are just so perfect an intimidating. You and May Flaum are the BEST at 'keeping it real'!

Awesome Nichol, this is such great card! I love it that you used white on it, I don't think there is an other colour that would be right. Thanks for an other great idea.

What a lovely card for your children to give to your Mum for Mother's Day Nichol. What I would love to say a particular thank you for is for leaving in the point where the smooshing did not go to plan and some of the coloured inks did not blend well together initially. To learn how to put this right as a crafter is so important, so thank you for demonstrating how to put this right and continue with a project. :O)
