Glow in the dark anything makes me a little giddy! I absolutely love that Lawn Fawn has released another amazing embossing powder in their line of incredible embossing powders! (If you haven't tried the Lawn Fawn embossing powders, I highly recommend them. The white is my favorite white of all time.)
For the background I wanted the Snowy Backdrop to look like a night sky with glow in the dark accents. Because I didn't want to inlay a bunch of tiny, tiny pieces or try to adding embossing powder to those tiny, tiny pieces, I instead covered a piece of cardstock with glow in the dark embossing powder and heat set it. I added two layers of embossing powder to make it nice and thick.
I die cut the Snowy Backdrop from smooth white cardstock and added Shaded Lilac, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink to the panel. The starry sky was adhered over the glow in the dark panel. Grassy borders were die cut from smooth white cardstock using Simple Grassy Hillsides Dies and inked with Forest Moss Distress Oxide Ink. The borders were adhered along the bottom edge of the sky panel.
A moon was die cut using a Circle Stackables Die and inked with Fossilized Amber and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks. Perfect Pearls diluted in water were sprayed over the moon to give it a lovely iridescent glow. Once dry, greetings from the Little Fireflies and Lights Out stamp sets were stamped on the "moon" with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Fireflies from the Little Fireflies and the jar lid from the How You Bean stamp set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating Little Fireflies Dies and How You Bean Dies.
The jar from How You Bean was stamped on vellum using Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The "glow" for each firefly from the Little Fireflies stamp set was stamped on smooth white cardstock and heat embossed with Glow in the dark embossing powder and die cut with the coordinating Little Fireflies Dies.
The images were adhered to the card as shown and the firefly wings were adorned with White Blizzard Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Here's a look at the glow-in-the-dark elements in the dark! Isn't that cool?!!!!

Super cute, Nichol. The colors you used for the background and the grassy hills are fantastic, especially Forest Moss. Thanks for the inspiration.

So cute and totally implies summer is almost here. My grandkids come over and catch fireflies and put them in jars for a night light while they stay with me. Just like I used to do almost 70 years ago when visiting my grandma. This made me think I should make similar little jars to stand up next to their bedside to send them some happy mail. Great inspiration!

Your card is so cute and creative! The background looks like a beautiful, clear summer night, nothing like a snowy backdrop. I love the whole jar idea of catching fireflies. It's a really fun card!

O my goodness, what a most fabulous card!! It's just so fun! I'm like you and I love anything that glows in the dark. Your night sky is gorgeous and I like how you put the starry panel over the glow in the dark panel to get the shinning stars. I also really like that you used vellum for the jar. Your moon is also amazing and spraying it with the perfect pearls mix gives it the perfect shine. I'll have to remember that! Love this card for so many reasons! Thanks for showing it in the dark so we could see how it glows and Thanks for bringing a smile to my face!!

Brilliant example of how amazing the glow in the dark powder can be used. Loving this card Nichol, I have all the bits you used on this, might try a variation of this as long as you don't mind x

Absolutely adore this card and loved following along while you created! I am a newbie at papercrafting and I was curious what the mat(s) you were using under all your projects while you created. It appeared easy to wipe clean and things didn't stick to it...I'm looking for something like that while I do my papercrafts.
Thanks!
Lynn
