Hello friends! The You Are Sublime Stamp Set and coordinating dies from the Summer 2018 Lawn Fawn Release is one of my favorites! I've used the stamps and dies with the new Porthole Frames Dies and Father's Day Line Border Die to create a couple of underwater card examples to share with you today.
For my first card example, I've created a Porthole Frame that looks out into the "ocean" from the porthole window!
On a piece of smooth white cardstock I scored the panel every 1/2" with a Scor Pal and adhered the piece to a white top fold card base.
Storm Cloud Cardstock was adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive and the largest Porthole Frame was die cut from the dimensional material and adhered to the background as shown.
The frame was used again to die cut a piece of white cardstock but keeping the inside circle piece this time. By using the same die, it ensures the insert fits the frame perfectly! I spritzed the circle with Distress Resist Spray, let it dry (or speed up the drying with a heat tool) and then used the direct-to-paper technique to apply Distress Oxide Inks to the paper, wiping away the excess ink to reveal the resisted areas. I love how it looks like underwater bubbles!
The images from the You Are Sublime Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and die cut with the coordinating You Are Sublime Dies.
The images were adhered to the background as shown and the panel was adhered inside the Porthole Frame. Glossy Accents was applied to the windows, scuba helmet, and bubbles.
A banner was die cut from smooth white cardstock using a Fancy Folded Banner and stamped with a greeting from the You Are Sublime Stamp Set before being adhered to the card to finish the design as shown.
My second card is just in time for Father's Day. I combined the You Are Sublime images with the Father's Day Line Border for this underwater scene colored in with Marvy Uchida Le Plume II Pastel Markers.
The background was inked with Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks. Yeti White Pigment Ink was applied through the Honey Bee Stamps Ocean Scene Builder Stencil and wiped away with a dry paper towel to mute the "rays". More Distress Oxide Ink was applied near the bottom edge as well. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and allowed to air dry completely.
One inch of the top of the background was cut away and greetings from the You Are Sublime Stamp Set were stamped with clear ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The panel was adhered to a white top fold background.
The Father's Day Line Border was die cut from Blue Jay Cardstock and adhered along the top edge of the background panel.
The You Are Sublime images were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored in with Marvy Uchida Le Plume II Pastel Markers and a water brush pen for additional blending on some of the images. The images were die cut with the coordinating You Are Sublime Dies and adhered to the scene as shown.
Clear Droplets were adhered to the water to look like bubbles using Glossy Accents to secure them and a Jewel Picker to easily pick them up and put them where they needed to go.
