Hello friends! Rainbows make this girl happy. Like super happy. I created a stenciled rainbow background today with a rainbow greeting (which is the star of the show for this card) with the new Creativity Is Contagious Stamp Set.
Bristol Smooth Cardstock was trimmed to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and inked with Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks through the Simon Says Stamp Zig Zag Stencil. Once inked, I dried the ink with a heat tool to dry the background quickly.
The large greeting from the Creativity Is Contagious Stamp Set was stamped with the same Distress Oxide Ink colors for a rainbow effect over the rainbow background. The only color that didn't show up well was Squeezed Lemonade so I simply eliminated it by covering it up with other colors. Once the rainbow was easy to read, I cleaned the stamp and inked the greeting again with clear embossing ink and heat set the rainbow with clear embossing powder.
I used the Dotted Detail Frame Die to die cut a thin border from the background and die cut it again from smooth white cardstock. The three pieces were then inlaid onto a top fold card as shown.
An additional greeting from the Creativity Is Contagious Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock using black ink, trimmed into a thin strip, and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
The design was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Carnation Pink, Ripened Pumpkin, Dandelion Yellow, Apple Green, Caribbean Ocean, and Crushed Grape.
