Hello! I'm back with another card idea featuring components from the August 2018 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, Mandy's Flowers! This incredible kit is so amazing and includes not only the amazing 6x8 Mandy's Flower Shed Stamp Set but also the Modern Rose Blooms Background Stamp as well as cardstock, patterned papers, twine, Doodlebug Stickers, and even a miniature Nuvo Crystal Drops bottle of Bubblegum Blush!
For my card share today I decided I needed to use all the potted florals or flowers in vases from the stamp set and created a custom stamped background with simple stamped and embossed sentiment strips on top. Even the Modern Rose Blooms Background Stamp makes an appearance as a very lightly stamped background. I can't say enough great things about these amazing stamps, y'all! They are my favorites!
To start, I stamped the floral images from the Mandy's Flower Shed Stamp Set on smooth white cardstock using Jet Black Ink. I stamped the Modern Rose Blooms Background Stamp over the background (no masking!) with Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass Ink. This is very, very light but helps give the panel more of a vintage-y look and feel rather than a modern clean white background. Apparently I'm into the "vintage look" with this kit! ;)
I colored in the images with Copic Markers and added some highlights to the images with a white gel pen.
Hearts from the Mandy's Flower Shed Stamp Set were stamped in the "white space" in the background using Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks Ink.
Greetings from the Mandy's Flower Shed Stamp Set were stamped on Slate Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder before being trimmed into thing strips and adhered to the card with foam adhesive strips.
The mini Bubblegum Blush Nuvo Crystal Drops from the kit were used to embellish some of the greenery on the background images to finish the card.

I am totally loving this card. Especially the background for the background!!! I was wondering how it might look if you added a drop shadow in the same color as the "wallpaper" , maybe just a shade lighter. Or would it be too much and too distracting? I love that you kept the colors simple. Thank you so much.

A great project using the SSS August 2018 Card kit Nichol, love how you stamped a light background over the stamps that you used as a decorative layer. A brilliant idea Nichol and I am certain to use this in the future. Thank you for sharing it with us crafters. :O)

Beautiful card, Nichol. I love the colors you used together. I never would have thought to stamp a background on top of uncolored images. I am going to try the technique this week. Thanks for sharing another awesome card.
