For my first card share with the August Kit, I am using the Mandy's Flower Shed Stamp Set, Modern Rose Blooms Background Stamp, Doodlebug Tiny Hearts Shape Sprinkles, and miniature Bubblegum Blus Nuvo Crystal Drops from the kit to create this one-layer background card! I can't get enough of the amazing images from the Mandy's Flower Shed 6x8 Stamp Set and can't wait to share more! Simon Says Stamp also heard you guys, and is offering the coordinating Mandy's Flower Shed dies on reserve! Thank you Simon Says Stamp!!!
One of the images from the Mandy's Flower Shed Stamp Set was stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then masked with Simon Says Stamp masking paper.
Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink was inked in ombre with darker at the bottom and lighter at the top. The Modern Rose Blooms Background Stamp was stamped over the inked background and mask using the same Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink for the tone-on-tone patterned background.
The mask was removed and the ink blending tool was used to add some color to the center of the circle shape.
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers were used to color in the images as shown. The great thing about using water based markers over water based ink is that they are very forgiving.
A scripty sentiment from the Mandy's Flower Shed Stamp Set was stamped in the center of the circle frame. Another sentiment from the stamp set was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing ink before being trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the design with foam adhesive.
The Bubblegum Blus Nuvo Crystal Drops were applied to the design as shown. Doodlebug Tiny Hearts Shape Sprinkles were adhered to the design for a little embellishment. A white gel pen was used over the colored images. I found that this works best if the water based markers are completely dry first.
