Hello! Today I'm sharing a simple thank you card with one of my favorite techniques, watercoloring a stamped and embossed background with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The Mod Flower Background is the perfect background stamp to color and not only is it a fantastic background but it serves as the embellishment on this pretty card!
The Mod Flower Background was stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder. The flowers and background were watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen.
The Big Thanks greeting was die cut from Smoke Gray Cardstock, smooth white cardstock, and Fun Foam. The layers were glued together and adhered to the background as shown.
The phrase was stamped on Island Blue Cardstock using embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder before being trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
The die cut sentiment was finished with Glossy Accents for a shiny, raised finish and a Honey Bee Stamps Candy Heart completed the design.
In the video, I talk about having to re-create the background because I accidentally deleted video footage from the original card. Well, instead of tossing the partial background I made for the video I created another card with the panel. Here's what I created! I used the new Honey Bee Stamps Stacking Hearts Dies, Sentiment Banner Dies, Grateful Stamp Set, and Thankful Dies.

I love the depth the colors pooling inside the embossing creates, the deeper halos of the circles make it look line you are looking through a die-cut piece instead of a 1 layer background.

I am so surprised that you can use this much water with Bristol! I use it with Zigs, but without added water. Gotta try it. This is the sweetest! Can't wait for the swatches!!! Thanks, as always for this inspiration.

Great card Nichol, love the colours and the beautiful grey background. I never use grey but I see lately more and more designers that use gray as background. I have to give that a try.
I hardly can wait for the swatches! Thank you for showing.

Beautiful flowers, Nichol. I love the colors. The gray in the background is just perfect. I think I like it better than I would a blue background. The gray almost has a purple tone to it. Thanks for the inspiration.

This card is so pretty! Love the bright colors of the flowers, and the gray background looks fantastic! I don't work with background stamps much, but this one looks so fun.
