Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Release NOW AVAILABLE + Big Picture Book Cards
Welcome to my very favorite crafty month of the year, STAMPtember!
STAMPtember is a month-long celebration at Simon Says Stamp and every day there will be exclusive collaborations, contests, prizes, special promotions, announcements, and more surprises! I will be sharing lots and lots of projects with you all month long! I can't wait to share everything with you!
Watch the creation of these two big picture book cards from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
The backgrounds for both cards was created using the new Plank Background Stamp. I stamped the background on Bristol Smooth Cardstock using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The different areas of the background were watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen. The sky's the limit with great background stamps! They can be used in so many ways!
Borders were trimmed from smooth white cardstock and adhered along the bottom edge of both cards. Sentiment phrases from the new Tiny Words Stamp Set was stamped with black ink. The Big Picture Book Lion and Big Picture Book Hippo were die cut from several different cardstock and assembled as shown.
The Script Hello was die cut from black and white cardstock, layered and adhered above the stamped phrase.
Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers were used to color a scrap of Bristol Smooth Cardstock and then the Mini Hearts Die was used to die cut the heart accents used to complete the design.

When I saw the release video Laura Bassen and Kristina Werner did for SSS and they showed the Storybook dies I immediately must think about you and what an awesome cards you would make with them. And look I was so right, together with the stunning background stamp you made great cards. Thank you Nichol and have a nice weekend.

I LOVE these super cute big picture book cards! Both the hippo and the lion are adorable, and I love your zig watercolor brush background! It all looks awesome!
Nichol, these cards are just adorable. I love the larger size. It's perfect for carrying a card by itself. And, the background stamp is just so unique! When you started working on the hippo, the first thing I saw was a frog. Looking just at the 'snout' of the hippo, it's a perfect frog face! How fun. Thanks for sharing.
