Welcome to Day 2 of my last minute Handmade Holiday 2018 Series!
I'm back with my fifth year of last minute handmade ideas! Five years, you guys. Wow. Thank you so much for your support of this series. I have been overwhelmed and almost considered not doing the series this year but I kept getting emails and comments asking for it so I sat down to make a list of projects I could do and I got really excited. So this series is for you crafting friends. I appreciate each and every one of you and y'all make this possible. Much love to everyone.
The goal of this series is adding handmade touches to gifts for our friends and family. Even with the craziness of the season I like to be able to personalize the gifts under our tree. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing mostly quick (an hour or less) Handmade Holiday ideas for cards, tags and gift wrapping sure to add that handmade touch we all love. Most ideas will include multiples (today I created 3 stenciled gift bags with monogram tags)!
Each Handmade Holiday project blog post will feature a brand new, never before seen project(s) plus an incredible giveaway from a generous sponsor!
STENCILED GIFT BAGS WITH MONOGRAM TAGS
Today I'm sharing some stenciled and embellished gift bags with monogrammed tags created by mixing and matching dies from several sets for these simple, yet elegant gift bags. These bags would be perfect for giving a gift card or other small, flat gift. Monograms are one of my favorite ways to customize a tag!
Today's post is in conjunction with Honey Bee Stamps 12 Days of Christmas Event where you will get to see daily inspiration from twelve designers, receive daily discounts on the products that they used & HBS will do a drawing from the comments on their blog for a winner of one stamp set that the designer used. (I have a giveaway on my blog, too!) Lots of chances to win and save today!

The Gift Bag Card die was used to die cut red cardstock for each bag. I cut two panels for each bag. The bags were stenciled with one of the Plaid Background Stencils and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink. Once each side of the bag was inked, adhesive was applied to the tabs on one side of the bag and the gift bag was adhered together as shown.
Labels for the front of each bag were die cut from both black cardstock and white glitter cardstock using the Truly Great Friends Die. On the inside black cardstock rectangle sentiments from the Fa La La Stamp Set were stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The "ho ho ho" sentiment from the Fa La La Dies was die cut from white glitter cardstock adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive and adhered above the stamped and embossed sentiment.
The label was adhered to the front of the bag and both the black cardstock scallop frame and white glitter cardstock frame were adhered around the rectangle to finish the label.
The circle tag from the Gift Bag Card Dies was die cut from smooth white cardstock. Monograms were die cut from red glitter cardstock using the Bee Bold Alphabet Dies and adhered to each tag as shown. Holly leaves from the Threshold Card Dies were die cut from green cardstock and adhered to each tag. Red sequins finish the holly and berries next to each monogram.
Ribbon handles were added to each bag and the tags were tied to the handles with crochet thread. Each bag was finished with a "tissue paper" insert created by die cutting the Gift Bag Card die using woodgrain vellum.

Oh my goodness these are so cute. I'm going to have to get that die cut for the bag. I love the plaid stencil too I could really use that and can't wait to see what the other ones look like that come with it. I like the way you just used one and made it so simple but so effective. Very very cute

You are so talented Nicol, and it's always a treat to see what you've created. I love this series as it's always something I can make or inspires me to make something fairly quick, and at this time of year I always seem to be rushing to get things done. Love these bags, and thanks so much for doing this series again this year!
