I absolutely LOVE the kit this month! And I made lots and lots of cards with the Main Kit and Add Ons! All of my cards today feature the Reactive Inks from the Main Kit and fun easy to do techniques. Let's get started!
My first card share today is my aquarium style card featuring the Main Kit only! The aquarium "window" was created from acetate and a sentiment from the Main Kit was stamped with Cotton White StazOn Ink. The elements on the frame were colored in with Copic Markers and the images inside the aquarium were stamped with Hero Arts Inks. The background of the aquarium was inked with Reactive Blue Water and Sea Glass inks, spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer, and blotted dry. The inks "react" with the water for stunning effects!
The following Copic Markers were used to color in the frame:
- Leaves: G21, G24, G28
- Seaweed: YG21, YG23, YG17
- Red Coral: R35, R39
- Orange Coral: YR04, YR09
- Starfish:YR31, YR24
The following Hero Arts inks were used to stamp the fish and other solid images inside the aquarium:
- Jellyfish (pink/purple): Ultra Pink, Orchid, Passion Flower
- Crab: Crimson, Red Royal
- Orange Corral: Orange Soda, Crimson
- Yellow Fish: Butter Bar, Orange Soda
- Seaweed: Moss, Forever Green
- Blue Fish: Cornflower, Reactive Blue Water
- Sharks: Soft Granite
- Rock: Wet Cement, Cup O'Joe
The fishbowl shaped card was created with Paper Layering Goldfish in Bowl Dies. A mask was used to mask off the "water line" at the top of the bowl and the Reactive Blue Water and Sea Glass Inks. The Bubbles Bold Prints background was stamped over the inked background with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The ink from inside the bubbles was "lifted" out by applying water with a water brush pen and lifting it off with a dry paper towel.
A greeting from the Pet Goldfish Stamp Set was stamped along the top of the bowl using the Reactive Blue Water Ink. Images from the Pet Goldfish Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies before being adhered to the design. The goldfish bowl was finished with a scattering of embellishments from the Main Kit.
Here's another design featuring a fish bowl! This card features the Bubbles Bold Prints stamped on inked Hero Hues Mist Cardstock using the Reactive Blue Water Ink. Water and Hero Arts White Iridescent Shimmer were sprayed over the cardstock for a fun iridescent effect! The fish bowl and fish from the Fishy Stamp and Cut were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onxy Black Ink, colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies. The images were adhered to the bubble background. A sentiment from the Pet Goldfish Stamp Set was stamped and embossed next to the fish bowl. White cardstock borders were adhered above and below the strip using foam adhesive. The card was finished with a scattering of bubble embellishments.
This next card features the reactive lift technique from the fish bowl shaped card but is the same design as the card above. This time images from the Pet Turtle Stamp Set were stamped with Fade Out Ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the no line coloring look. The images were die cut with the coordinating Pet Turtle dies and adhered as shown. A grass borders was created by die cutting Hero Hues Pesto Cardstock with the Thorn Tree and Grasses Fancy Die.
I love the look of the lift inks on colored cardstock. The Sea Salt Reactive ink was applied to Hero Hues Adriatic Cardstock, then staped with the Bursting With Love Bold Prints Background and Reactive Sea Glass Ink before more of the Sea Glass Ink was applied for the ombre effect. The panel was spritzed with both water from a Distress Sprayer and White Iridescent Shimmer for a sparkly shimmery effect! Greetings and images from the Curious Cat Add On Stamp Set and coordinating dies were used for this design.
My last card share today features the Fish and Bubbles Confetti Die inked with Reactive Blue Water and Sea Glass Inks, spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and the White Iridescent Shimmer spray. The shimmer really is the star of the background on this beautiful design! The die was die cut again from Hero Hues Adriatic Cardstock and the fish were inlaid into the background. Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard were adhered to the "bubbles".
The Color Layering Betta Fish was inked with Cornflower, Indigo, and Navy inks, die cut with the coordinating die and adhered to the card with foam adhesive. The vines were stamped with Fade Out ink, colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and adhered along the bottom edge of the design.
