Mama Elephant Designer Series | Making Waves with Marine Friends

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing an underwater ocean scene card with the new Marine Friends Stamp Set and coordinating dies and Making Waves Cover Creative Cuts Die. Distress Oxide Inks in Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, and Blueprint Sketch are the perfect backdrop to the no-line coloring of the Marine Friends. Let's get started!

The Making Waves Cover Creative Cuts Die was die cut from smooth white cardstock and inked with Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Inks. The background was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer to create the oxidized look.

Once the background is completely dry sentiments from the Mini Everyday Messages and Marine Friends stamp sets were stamped on the background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Lawn Fawn Yeti white pigment ink was applied through a Honey Bee Stamps Ocean Scene Builder stencil for the "light filtering through the water" look.

Images from the Marine Friends Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Fadeout Inkon3 No Line Coloring Ink, colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies. The following Zig Markers were used to color the Marine Friends:

Dolphins: 090 Gray, 091 Light Gray, 999 Blender, 201 Pink Haze

Fish: 060 Brown, 061 Light Brown, 999 Blender

Turtles: 044 Deep Green, 046 Mid Green, 201 Pink Haze

Seaweed: 041 Light Green, 053 Yellow Green

Coral: 052 Bright Yellow, 050 Yellow

Hearts: 020 Red, 021 Light Carmine

The images were adhered to the background to build the scene as shown. Glossy Accents was used on the hearts and used to create "bubbles".

Spellbinders | Die D-Lites Animal Birthday Scene Cards

Hello friends! Today I have a couple of animal birthday scene cards with the new Die D-Lites Etched Dies. I can’t get enough of the adorable critters from the latest Die D-Lites release. I am combining five of my favorite sets for these two birthday cards. I’ve used the Wild About You sentiment set for both cards. It can work with so many of your other dies as a great way to add sentiments. In addition to the Die D-Lites, I’m using cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey and even a couple of FSJ embossing folders. Let’s get started!

The lion and tiger card feature two FSJ Embossing Folders for the background. The Bright Days embossing folder was embossed on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock and inked with yellow ink to emphasize the embossing. Another white cardstock panel was embossed with the FSJ Beach Towel Embossing Folder. This panel was trimmed to 2”x 4” and adhered to the bottom of the Bright Days panel.

The Lion, Oh My,Tiger, Oh My, and Picket Fence Die D-Lites were die cut and assembled as shown. The following FSJ Cardstock colors were used for the images:

Lion: Candy Apple, Buttercream, Hazelnut Cream, Black, Beach Breeze, and Huckleberry Fusion

Tiger: Candy Apple, Tangerine Fusion, Hazelnut Cream, Buttercream, Black, and River Storm

Grass: Lemongrass

The Wild About You Die D-Lites words were die cut from Beach Breeze, Huckleberry Fusion, Candy Apple, and Pineapple Smoothie FSJ cardstock three times. The die cuts were adhered one on top of another and adhered below the scene. Stamped sentiment strips were adhered to the top and bottom of the card as shown. Glossy Accents was added to the noses and the eye glasses. Hearts accents finish the card.

The background was trimmed to 4” x 5 ¼” from FSJ Pool Play Cardstock. A waves stencil and falling hearts stencil were inked over the background.

The ice and iceburg images were die cut from white glitter cardstock and light blue cardstock. The images were adhered to the background stenciled scene.

The Tux and Woliver Die D-Lites were die cut from the following FSJ Cardstock colors:

Penguin: Black, Whip Cream, Citrus Cooler, Beach Breeze, and Huckleberry Fusion

Walrus: River Storm, Tin Pail, Black, Beach Breeze, Huckleberry Fusion, Candy Apple, and Whip Cream

The images were assembled and adhered to the card to finish the scene. A sentiment from the Wild For You Die D-Lites was die cut three times from Candy Apple Cardstock, glued one on top of another and adhered to the top of the card.

Sentiments from the Mama Elephant Birthday Messages Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with colorful ink, trimmed into thin strips, and adhered with foam adhesive. Glossy Accents was added to the noses. Hearts accents finish the card.

Simon Says Stamp | Celebrate Women Blog Hop

I am using the Incredible Woman Stamp Set for a no-line coloring Polychromos floral mama card. I am a huge fan of no-line coloring and I'm a huge fan of Polychromos on colored cardstock. Today's card features both!

To start the design I first stamped a sentiment from the Incredible Woman Stamp Set on Hero Hues Pebble Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. Stamping the sentiment first allows you to know exactly where to stamp the florals around the greeting.

The flowers and leaves from the Incredible Woman Stamp Set were stamped around the sentiment using the Inkon3 FadeOut No Line Coloring Ink. I worked with only 1-2 flowers/leaves at a time so the ink didn't fade too much while coloring, making it hard to see. The following Polychromos color combinations were used for the flowers and leaves:

Pink flowers: Pink Carmine, Fucshia, Pink Madder Lake, White

Purple flowers: Blue Violet, Violet, Light Ultramarine, White

Yellow flowers: Dark Chrome Yellow, Naples Yellow, Ivory

Leaves: Permanent Green Olive, May Green, White

Once the flowers were all colored I watered down some Picket Fence Distress Paint and flicked it over the background with a small paintbrush. I let the background completely air dry.

An additional sentiment from the Incredible Woman Stamp Set was stamped on Hero Hues Azalea Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. A Nested Banner Die was used to die cut the phrase before being adhered to the card with a foam adhesive strip.

Studio Katia Frosted Hearts were adhered around the card to finish the design.

Honey Bee Stamps | Flower Pot Card (5x7)

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a 5x7 card that features an interactive Flower Pot Card element on a one-layer panel. Paper pieced honey bees appear to be "floating" above the flower pot filled with pretty flowers. This card features lots of new stamps and dies from the new 4th BEEday Release from Honey Bee Stamps.

The background of the card was created by die cutting Blue Jay cardstock with a Scallop A7 rectangle die. This panel was matted on a white 5x7 piece of cardstock for the base of the card.

The flower pot and insert were die cut from Adriatic cardstock using the Flower Pot Dies. The flower pot was assembled as shown and embellished with Candy Hearts in Be Mine and rustic twine. The flower pot was secured directly to the card background as shown.

The insert for the flower pot was adorned with die cut flowers from the Flower Pot Card Dies.

Honey Bees Paper Piecing Dies were used to create the bumblebees from Pitch Black and Mustard cardstock. Vellum was fussy cut and placed between two black cardstock outline layers to give the wings a more substantial look and feel. The die cut bees were adhered to clear acetate strips and the strips were adhered to the back of the flower pot insert. The acetate helps make the bees appear to be "floating" above the flowers.

The "pull here" sentiment from the One-of-a-Kind Stamp Set was stamped with black ink to the center of one of the flowers to let the recipient know that the card is interactive.

The flower pot insert was die cut again and adhered to the back to hide any adhesive and give the insert more stability since it's the only "moving part" on the card.

A sentiment was die cut from Blue Jay cardstock three times using the Bloom Dies and adhered one on top of another before being adhered to a cream die cut outline. The sentiment was adhered to the flower post as shown. Phrases from the Bloom Stamp Set were stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed into thin strips, and adhered to the card with foam adhesive as shown.

Greetings from the One-of-a-Kind Stamp Set were stamped on the flower pot insert with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard were applied to the flower centers to complete the card.

While I'm sharing how to turn this into a great way to share a gift card to a flower/plant nursery for Mother's Day, this same designs can be easily used for many other occasions!

In addition to the Large Die of the Month Club Kit dies, I'm also incorporating the Small Die of the Month Club Kit dies (Layered Colorful Blooms) and the Glimmer of the Month hot foil plates (Classic Alphabet) in my project share today!

The easiest way to position and foil the sentiment for the front of the gift card holder bag is to foil a larger sheet of cardstock and then die cut it with the Large Die of the Month Club Kit die. I foiled the word "mom" on FSJ Peaches & Cream Cardstock with Blush Hot Foil. A sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Love You Mama Stamp Set was stamped below the glimmered greeting with Lawn Fawn Guava Ink. I used theLarge Die of the Month Club Kit die to die cut the front of the gift bag and die cut a second panel form the cardstock for the back of the gift bag. The front and back of the gift bag were secured together with double sided tape.

The Small Die of the Month Club Kit dies (Layered Colorful Blooms) were used to die cut flowers and adhere them to the bottom left corner of the front of the bag. The following cardstock colors were used to die cut the flower components:

Flowers: Hero Hues Cherry, Lawn Fawn Raspberry, Lawn Fawn Guava, Hero Hues Peony

Leaves: FSJ Lemongrass, FSJ Limeade Splash

A tassel was created from the Large Die of the Month Club Kit using Lawn Fawn Guava and Hero Hues Peony cardstock. A gift tag from the die set was die cut from FSJ Cool Pool Cardstock and stamped with a sentiment from The Stamp Market Gift For You Stamp Set using Simon Says Stamp Teal Ink. The tassel and tag were threaded onto the die cut bag handle and the handles were secured to each side of the gift bag with liquid adhesive.

The insert for the gift bag was die cut from FSJ Peaches & Cream Cardstock and the notches die from the Large Die of the Month Club Kit was die cut from the panel to hold a gift card. I love that this is a separate die so that if you want to make the insert into something else that doesn't hold a gift card, you can!

The "tissue paper" for the top of the insert was die cut from FSJ Cool Pool Cardstock using the Large Die of the Month Club Kit dies, was folded on the score lines, and adhered to the top of the gift card insert panel to complete the design.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Mini Everyday Messages

Hello friends! Today I have a Mini Everyday Messages Little Mermaiden Agenda underwater scene card to share with you! I'm pairing the brand new Mini Everyday Messages Stamp Set and Little Mermaiden Agenda Stamp Set and coordinating dies with the previously released Circular Grid Cover for a fun filled card!

The Circular Grid Cover was die cut from smooth white cardstock. The die cut panel and a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of smooth white cardstock were inked with Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks. Both panels were spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer and blotted dry.

A Honey Bee Stamps Ocean Scene Builder Stencil and white pigment ink were used to add rays of light filtering through the underwater scene. The stenciling was added to both the background and frame.

Once the background was completely dry, Mini Everyday Messages were stamped in four of the frame openings using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The frame was then popped up with foam adhesive over the background.

Little Mermaiden Agenda images were stamped on smooth white cardstock with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with the following Copic Marker color combinations;

Skin: E00, E11, E13, E15, E27, R20

Hair: E30, E31, E55, E57, W7, W9

Pinks: RV55, RV66

Reds: R35, R37, R89

Yellows: Y08, Y19

Aquas: BG11, BG13

Blues: B32, B34

Purples: B63, B66

The images were die cut with the coordinating Little Mermaiden Agenda Dies and adhered to the card with foam adhesive squares. The fish were glued directly to the card. The design was finished with a scattering of Honey Bee Stamps Crystal Clear hearts.

Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to the hearts and bikini tops. A black gel pen and fine detail pen were used for the eyes and eyelashes. A stardust glitter pen was used for the mermaid tails.

These beautiful, shimmery, pearlescent backgrounds are the perfect backdrop to the gorgeous florals from the Delicate Flowers Stamp Set, colored with no-line coloring and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

The Silver Sparkle Alcohol Ink Paper from the May Kit were inked with Blending Solution, Intrigue, Sublime, and Tranquil alcohol inks. An airbrush tool was used to help move the inks around.

The backgrounds were trimmed at an angle, leaving a strip between the two panels. Sentiments from the Delicate Flowers Stamp Set were stamped on white cardstock with black ink. The alcohol inked backgrounds were popped up with foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.

Flowers and leaves from the Delicate Flowers Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Inkon3 Fadeout No Line Coloring Ink and colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The images were fussy cut and adhered to the card bases as shown.

Each card was finished with a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh White Jewels to an additional touch of sparkle.

Mama Elephant | Big News Tri Window Card

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing this tri window designed card featuring the brand new Big News Stamp Set and coordinating dies paired with some favorite previously released Mama Elephant Stamps and Dies: Stackable Cuties (sitting elephant and bear), The Cat's Meow (sign and mouse), and The Bunny's Hop (bunny head and large flower).

The Tri Window frame was die cut from smooth white cardstock. The "inside" rectangles were inked with Cracked Pistachio, Spun Sugar, and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks. These rectangles were adhered directly to a card base and the frame was adhered to the card with foam adhesive strips.

Images from the Big News, The Cat's Meow, The Bunny's Hop, and Stackable Cuties were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker combinations were used for the design:

Flowers: 052 Bright Yellow, 050 Yellow, 055 Pale Yellow, 041 Light Green, 053 Yellow Green

Bunnies: 072 Beige, 074 Light Beige, 999 Blender, 201 Pink Haze

Signs: 065 Mid Brown, 072 Beige

Elephants: 090 Gray, 091 Light Gray, 999 Blender, 201 Pink Haze

Mouse:090 Gray, 091 Light Gray, 999 Blender

Teal Balloon: 042 Turquoise Green, 049 Green Shadow, 999 Blender

Pink Balloon: 200 Peach Pink, 201 Sugared Almond Pink, 999 Blender

Bears: 072 Beige, 074 Light Beige, 999 Blender, 201 Pink Haze

Pink Sign: 065 Mid Brown, 072 Beige, 200 Peach Pink, 201 Sugared Almond Pink, 999 Blender

The signs in the Big News images were stamped with sentiments from the stamp set using clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The images were die cut with the coordinating Big New Dies, The Cat's Meow Dies, The Bunny's Hop Dies, and Stackable Cuties Dies before being adhered to the frame design with either foam adhesive squares or liquid adhesive.

Honey Bee Stamps | Happy 4th BEEday Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to the Honey Bee Stamp Happy 4th BEEday Release Blog Hop Day 1!

Today I have a Chicken Coop shaped card to share with you featuring the brand new Chicken Coop Dies, Spring Chicks Stamp Set and coordinating dies, and Eggcellent Sentiments Stamp Set! I created my own shaped card base using the chicken coop as a template and added a sentiment in the form of a sign on the coop and an additional sentiment on the inside of the card to round out this fun and playful design. Everyone has those days where we want to say "cluck it", right?!!! Ha!

The Chicken Coop was die cut from white woodgrain cardstock and inked with Lawn Fawn Doe and Walnut Inks using the Picket Fence Life Changing Blending Brushes. I die cut the chicken coop twice more from smooth white cardstock.

Using one of the chicken coops as a template, I traced the design on a folded side fold card base and cut out the shape with scissors to make the shaped card base.

The two white layers of the Chicken Coop were adhered to the shaped card base and the layers were finished with the woodgrain layer. A roof for the chicken coop was die cut from Hero Hues Cranberry Cardstock and adhered to the top of the coop. Honey Bee Stamps Candy Hearts in Be Mine were adhered to the roof for decoration.

The hay in the chicken coop was die cut from Lawn Fawn No. 2 Pencil Cardstock and inked with No. 2 Pencil Ink before being adhered to the chicken coop with foam adhesive squares.

A "sign" for the chicken coop was created by stamping a sentiment from the Eggcelent Sentiments Stamp Set on Hero Hues Black Licorice Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The sign was trimmed into a rectangle and adhered to the top of the coop.

Images from the Spring Chicks Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Inkon3 Fadeout Ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers before being die cut with the coordinating dies. The images were adhered to the chicken coop as shown.

The following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker Colors were used:

Chickens: 060 Brown, 061 Medium Brown, 076 Medium Brown, 068 Deep Brown, 260 Deep Red, 029 Geranium Red, 052 Bright Yellow, 050 Yellow

Eggs: 302 Haze Blue, 999 Blender

To finish the card I stamped an additional sentiment from the Eggcelent Sentiments Stamp Set inside the card with black ink.
