Today I'm sharing two cards with you using the April My Monthly Hero Main Kit and several of the Add Ons. My first card share features the Main Kit only.
I started my card by painting a night sky background with Hero Arts Pewter Glimmer Metallic Ink, Blue Glimmer Metallic Ink, and Black Liquid Watercolor. I wetted down the inks with a bit of water and blended them to build the night sky.
Charcoal Ink and a blending brush were used to add distressing to the die cuts.
Behind the tall Plum die cut buildings, Chestnut Cardstock was adhered for a two-tone effect. The buildings were die cut again from Mustard Cardstock and the windows were inlaid. The buildings were adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
A sentiment from the main kit was stamped on the moon with Black Ink.
Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard were applied to the windows for a shiny, glittery effect. The sky was finished with white pen marks for "stars".
For my second card share today I am combining the Venetian Neighborhood Cling Stamp with the Peek-a-boo Doors Fancy Die and the Hero Greetings Mini Messages. The incredible Peek-a-boo Doors Fancy Die also works with the Presents Background and Mail Jumble Background. I love that Hero keeps coming out with new stamps to work with this die. And, friends, this one is my FAV!!! How cool is this Venetian Neighborhood all colors up with little windows opening to sentiments or hearts?!!!!
The die and panel were used as a guide to stamp sentiments from the Hero Greetings Mini Messages Stamp Set on Hero Hues Antique Ivory Cardstock so they perfectly lined up behind the windows. I also used a heart image from the Main Kit behind any window where I didn't add a sentiment. I colored those hearts in with Copic Markers.
