Hello friends! Today I have two one-layer masked mermaid scene cards to share with you created by mixing and matching images and greetings from three different stamp companies: mermaids and bubbles from the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Mermaids Stamp Set, rocks from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid For You Stamp Set, and greetings from the Colorado Craft Company Be A Mermaid Stamp Set. Distress Oxide Inks and the Honey Bee Stamps Ocean Scene Builder stencils were used for the background. Copic Markers were used to color in the images.

Watch the creation of these masked mermaid scene cards from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
Both cards were made exactly the same, just switched up the skin tones on the mermaids. For both cards the mermaid and rocks from the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Mermaids Stamp Set and the Lawn Fawn Mermaid For You Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock with black ink and masked with Simon Says Stamp masking paper.
Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Stormy Sky, and Black Soot were applied to create the background and water. The top portion of the design was spritzed with water from a Distress Sprayer.
The Honey Bee Stamps Ocean Scene Builder stencils were used with white pigment ink to create rays of light and the light shimmering on the water. I buffed off any excess ink with a dry paper towel to soften the stenciled edges.
The masks were removed and the imaged were colored in with the following Copic Markers:
- Light Skin Tone: E00, E11, E13, R20
- Darker Skin Tone: E11, E13, E15, R20
- Light Brown Hair: E30, E31, E55, E57
- Darker Hair: E55, E29, E49, E59, E79
- Mermaid Tail: B60, B63, B66, B69
- Top, Hair Accessory: RV66, RV69
- Rocks: E40, E43, E44, E47, E49
White and black pen detail was added to the mermaid tail, eyes, and cheeks on the mermaid. Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard was applied to the mermaid tail. Glossy Accents was applied to the bikini top and hair accessory.
Fish from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid For You Stamp Set were stamped in the "water" with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. The eyes were embellished with a white pen.
A sentiment from the Colorado Craft Company Be A Mermaid Stamp Set and bubbles from the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Mermaids Stamp Set were stamped along the top half of the card with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. Glossy Accents was applied to the bubbles for a glossy, raised finish.
Additional sentiments from the Colorado Craft Company Be A Mermaid Stamp Set were stamped on the inside of the card with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink and black ink.

Beautiful cards, Nichol. You nailed the cavern feel. I really like the sentiments you used. Besides being great sentiments, the font is awesome. I love it when you mix and match brands. I'm sure you really enjoy it as you usually have to stick to the brand you're making it for. Thanks for sharing.
