Honey Bee Stamps | Rainbow Wishes

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing this rainbow scene card featuring some of my favorite Honey Bee Stamps stamps, dies, and stencils! The Rainbow Wishes Dies and Rainbow Wishes Stamp Set were paired with the clouds Outdoor Scene Builder Stencils for this quick and easy design.

The background was created from Lawn Fawn Fog Cardstock trimmed to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The Honey Bee Stamps Outdoor Scene Builder Clouds Stencil, Lawn Fawn Manatee Ink, and a Life Changing Blending Brush were used to create the gray on gray background.

Sentiments from the Rainbow Wishes Stamp Set was stamped along the bottom edge of the background with Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The sunshine rays from the Rainbow Wishes Die Collection were die cut from the upper left corner of the background. This die cuts the lines but not an outline from the paper. A sun was die cut from Lawn Fawn Sticky Note Cardstock and adhered to the center as shown.

Rainbow arches were die cut from Hero Hues Peony Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Guava Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Apricot Cardstock, Lawn Fawn Sticky Note Cardstock, Hero Hues Kiwi Cardstock, and Lawn Fawn Mermaid Cardstock and then glued in place as shown. Clouds were die cut from smooth white cardstock and adhered to each end of the rainbow.

The small hearts were die cut from the same cardstock colors as the rainbow and adhered throughout the design. The sun and hearts were finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard.

Lawn Fawn | Stitched Cupcakes Die Cut Background Birthday Card

Hello there! I'm a huge fan of all-over die cut backgrounds and then new Stitched Cupcakes Dies from Lawn Fawn create the most delicious cards! All the dies, with the exception of the cherry and stem (those are from the I Scream, You Scream Die Set), are from the Stitched Cupcake Collection. A bit of inking around the edges of the designs added shading and dimension and the Prisma Glitter adds a "sugary" effect to the cupcakes.

A background was die cut from Mermaid Cardstock with the Itsy Bitsy Polkadot Backdrop and inked around the edges with Mermaid Ink with a blending brush.

Cupcakes, strawberries, and cherries from the Stitched Cupcakes Dies and I Scream, You Scream Die Set were die cut from Ballet Slippers, Raspberry, Chili Pepper, Apricot, Sticky Note, Cilantro, Chocolate Bar, and white cardstock. Shading was added to the die cuts with Ballet Slippers Ink, Raspberry Ink, Chili Pepper Ink, Apricot Ink, Cilantro Ink, Sunflower Ink, and Walnut Ink.

The die cuts were assembled and Prisma Glitter was applied to the cupcakes for a "sugared" look.  The cupcakes and fruit were adhered to the background as shown. Glossy Accents was applied to the hearts on the cupcake wrappers.

Sentiments from the Birthday Before 'N Afters Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock with Mermaid Ink and Cilantro Ink. The greetings were die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Nested Banners Die. The banner was adhered to the background with foam adhesive.

Mama Elephant | Sky Bursters Book Buddy Baby Card

Hello friends! I love finding new ways to use the Mama Elephant Book Buddy die cut critters to cards. These dies were made to be used to create bookmarks but I love using them in card designs. Visit THIS post for a kitty birthday card or THIS post for a kitty rainbow card. Today I combined the Sky Bursters Frame with the adorable bear Book Buddy for a sweet baby card.

The Sky Bursters Frame was die cut from smooth white cardstock, keeping the oval and frame together with post it tape. The edges of the frame were masked off with post it tape as well. The background was inked with Broken China and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks. Water from a Distress Sprayer was spritzed over the background and blotted dry with a paper towel. Once completely dry a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Faith Stamp Set was stamped along the bottom edge with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The Sky Bursters Frame hanging stars and moon were die cut from smooth white cardstock, Hero Hues Canary Cardstock, and Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Cardstock. The glittery stars and yellow moon were layered over the white die cut piece. Foam Adhesive was adhered to the back of the hanging stars.

The bear Book Buddy was die cut from Hero Hues Chestnut Cardstock, Hero Hues Peony Cardstock, Hero Hues Pitch Black Cardstock, and Lawn Fawn Paper Bag Cardstock. The bear's body was adhered to appear to "hang" over the stars and moon. Shading was added to the face and body with Copic Markers. Glossy Accents was adherex to the eyes and nose. Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard were applied to the moon.

Additional stars were die cut from Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Cardstock and scattered throughout the design. Pretty Pink Posh Mini Silver Star Confetti were layered over some of the cardstock stars and throughout the background to finish the design.

Simon Says Stamp | HBD Frogs (Birthday Card)

Do you struggle with masculine cards for birthdays? I sure do! Some of the Simon Says Stamp Celebrate You Release products spoke to me to create this fun and playful peeking frogs birthday card. I absolutely love the result and hope it inspires you to play around with products to create masculine guy cards!

The Peeking Frog and Peeking Talking Frog dies were die cut from a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of smooth white cardstock. The frogs were colored with the following Copic Marker colors:

• G00, G02, G09, Y0000, Y00

The eyes on the frogs die cut all the way if you want to do paper piecing. I purposely kept those and colored them in with pale yellows and added black gel pen to the eye centers. 

Sentiments from the Big Birthday Greetings Stamp Set and Stop Drop Party Stamp Set were stamped on the panel with Simon Says Stamp Black Ink. The panel was trimmed down to 3 3/4" x 5 1/2".  Stars from the Stop Drop Party Stamp Set were stamped around the design with Simon Says Stamp Sunshine, Green Apple, and Island Blue inks.

Another panel was trimmed to 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" and inked with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. The frog panel was adhered to the inked background with foam adhesive. Party hats were die cut from Simon Says Stamp Island Blue Cardstock and Gina K Wild Dandelion Cardstock, assembled and adhered to the frogs heads with foam adhesive squares.

Smooth white cardstock was adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive and inked with Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks. The HBD Die was die cut from part of the inked design and adhered above the "happy birthday dude" phrase. Another sentiment from the Stop Drop Party Stamp Set was stamped on the inked background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The coordinating Stop Drop Party Die was used to die cut the sentiment and was adhered to the card as shown.

The Diagonal Stripes Background was stamped on smooth white cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Black Ink, trimmed into two 1/2" x 5 1/2" strips and adhered along both long sides of the card. The frog panel was adhered on top and the frog's eyes were finished with a layer of Glossy Accents.

wplus9 Guest Designer | New Home Scene Cards with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Hello friends! I'm popping in here today to share these two cards I created as a guest designer for wplus9 a few weeks back. I absolutely love the New Home Stamp Set and coordinating dies. These build-a-home/front porch images just make my heart happy! I created both a landscape thank you card and a portrait new home card with these amazing images! I love how you can create something different every time.

Siding was stamped on both card backgrounds using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Bristol Smooth Cardstock was used for the backgrounds. It's my absolute favorite paper for Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker coloring.

 

For the thank you card the siding and porch of the house was colored with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:

Beige, Medium Beige, Blender

The door, side lights and casing image was also stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and colored with the following markers:

Beige, Medium Beige, Blender, Deep Blue, Shadow Mauve

The windows were colored with the Haze Blue Marker.

The rest of the images were colored with the following marker colors:

Lights: Gray, Pale Gray

Planters: Medium Beige, Blender, Pale Rose, Deep Red

Door Mat: Deep Blue, Shadow Mauve

Greenery & Flowers: Olive Green, Mid Green, Light Violet, Pale Violet, Bright Yellow, Yellow

"Welcome" from the Welcome Wreath Stamp Set was stamped on the doormat with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Glossy Accents was applied to the window panes. The images were adhered to the design with foam adhesive squares for added dimension. 

The "thanks" from the Welcome Dies was die cut from smooth white cardstock adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive. Fired Brick Distress Ink was applied to the greeting with an ink blending tool. The greeting was adhered to the design as shown and finished with a layer of Glossy Accents.

An additional greeting from the Welcome Wreath Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink, embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed into a thin strip and adhered to the design with foam adhesive.

For the new home congratulations card the siding and porch of the house was colored with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:

Gray, Pale Gray, Blender

A sentiment from the New Home Stamp Set was stamped along the bottom edge of the design as shown.

I combined a favorite color combination with the new Kaleidoscope Trio, gorgeous Layered Scallops Embossing Folder, and a sentiment from the FSJ Mini Greetings Stamp Set for this clean and simple design.

FSJ Whip Cream cardstock was embossed with the Layered Scallops Embossing Folder and cut apart to leave a border just wide enough for a sentiment stamped on the base of the card. "Just Because" from the FSJ Mini Greetings Stamp Set was stamped with Simon Says Stamp Doll Pink Ink. The Layered Scallops Embossing Folder background was matted on Turbo Teal Cardstock and adhered to the card base as shown.

The Kaleidoscope Trio petals were die cut from Turbo Teal, Bubble Gum, Watermelon Fusion, and Cool Pool FSJ Cardstock, layered together and adhered to the card base as shown.

Pretty Pink Posh gems were adhered to parts of the design for a bit of sparkle and to finish the card.

FSJ Hello Summer Blog Hop | Starry Night Cards + GIVEAWAY

Hello friends! I'm so excited to be blog hopping with Fun Stampers Journey today celebrating the Hello Summer Release! If you missed the YouTube Live Launch Party, you can catch the replay HERE.

While I used several combinations of Ranger Alcohol Inks to create multiple backgrounds in the video, I settled on my two favorites for the cards below. I used Alcohol Ink colors in Pool, Bottle, Turquoise, and Stream. The colors were placed in a glass dish of water and regular heavyweight Neenah cardstock were "dipped" into the inked mixture and set aside to completely air dry.

A whale and the swans from the Dream Seeker Stamp Set were stamped on smooth white cardstock using a black ink for Copic Marker coloring. The images were colored with the following marker colors:

Swans: W00, W2, W5, R00, YR04

Whale: C00, C2, C5, C7, C8

The images were die cu with the coordinating dies. 

For the whale card a sentiment, stars, and other celestial images were stamped on the dry alcohol ink backgrounds with clear embossing ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. The whale was adhered with foam adhesive squares. The Starry Night sequins were scattered throughout the design to finish the card.

For the swans card the Bright Days Embossing Folder was embossed on smooth white cardstock. The alcohol inked background was die cut with a Spellbinders Waves Border Die. The wave borders were adhered to the embossed background as shown. A sentiment from the Dream Seeker Stamp Set was stamped on the background with black ink.

The swans were adhered with foam adhesive and the Starry Night sequins were scattered throughout the design to finish the card.

Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight | Hibiscus Wishes

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a no line coloring flower border card with the brand new Hibiscus Wishes Stamp Set. I'm using the free gift with purchase Aloha Script Die and the previously released Friendship Sentiments Stamp Set to complete this fun and bright design.

The Inkon3 Fadeout No Line Coloring Ink was used to stamp the flowers and leaves from the Hibiscus Wishes Stamp Set around the edge of a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Bristol Smooth Cardstock base. The flowers were colored with the following Zig Clean Color Marker color combinations:

Yellow Flowers: Orange, Bright Yellow, Yellow, Pale Yellow

Pink Flowers: Carmine Red, Peach Pink, Sugared Almond Pink, Blender

Red Flowers: Carmine Red, Light Carmine, Blender

Purple Flowers: Dark Pink, Light Violet, Pale Violet

Leaves: Light Green, Yellow Green, Blender

In the center of the design a Hibiscus Wishes sentiment ("friend") and a phrase from the Friendship Sentiments Stamp Set were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The letters of "friend" were colored in with the same Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker colors as listed above.

The Aloha Script die was die cut from smooth white cardstock adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive. The greeting was inked with Picked Raspberry and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks and adhered above the word "friend" in the center of the floral frame.

Glossy Accents was applied to the die cut word and the "friend" letters for a glossy, smooth finish.

Nuvo Crystal Drops in Key Lime, Apple Green, and Pale Periwinkle were applied to the design to finish the card.

Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit | Bee Yourself (coloring over patterned papers)

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a couple of cards with the July 2019 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, Bee Yourself! I am sharing two cards featuring stamping the Bee Yourself images on the Honey Bee Stamps patterned papers and coloring over the patterns with Copic Markers. This is a great way to create a card with no fussy cutting, masking, etc. I love this technique! Please share with me what you're making with the July Kit. I can't wait to hear!

Stamping images on patterned papers and coloring those images in over the pattern is one of my favorite ways to get around not having coordinating dies. Or maybe I just don't want that white outline around the image for whatever reason. Fussy cutting is my personal least favorite technique. I know some of y'all excel at it but, friends, it is not my spiritual gifting. At all.

Fortunately for those of us who prefer not to fussy cut stamped images, many of the Honey Bee Stamps The Bee's Knees 6x6 patterned papers from the July Kit are easy to stamp and color over! Yay!

I started by stamping images and greetings from the Bee Yourself Stamp Set over the Honey Bee Stamps The Bee's Knees 6x6 patterned papers using Gina K Amalgam Ink. The images were colored in with the following Copic Marker colors:

Bees: W5, W6, W9, Y11, Y08, Y19, R21, BV31, BV34

Hearts: R24, R46

Once the images were colored, I trimmed the patterned paper down to 5 1/2" on one side and 3 3/4" on the other. Another paper from the kit has these awesome black wonky scallops. Instead of die cutting a scallop border, I instead trimmed multiple strips. I matted the stamped and colored panel on these strips. I love the wonky scallop borders! I adhered the backgrounds to white side and top fold card bases.

Detailing was added to the bees with black and white gel pens and Nuvo Crystal Drops in White Blizzard. Glossy Accents was added to the bee's noses and the hearts.

The Hexagon Die was die cut from Sunshine and Black Cardstock (from the kit) as well as patterned papers from the kit. The patterns were inlaid into the cardstock outlines to fill in some "white space" on the desgins.

Each card was finished with Buzzy Sequins from the kit!
