Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Rest & Refresh Blog Hop!
This brand new release is perfect for all your summer-themed crafting and more! I love the stamps, dies, and stencils from this release so much that I created a card showcase featuring eight brand new products with a layered stenciled and stamped background technique! The Nautical Stripes Stencil and Buoys Stencil create the most amazing nautical themed backgrounds!

Watch the creation of these thanks and thinking of you cards featuring stamps, dies, and stencils from the Rest & Refresh Release from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
Two of my cards featuring layering the Nautical Stripes Stencil with the Anchors Background Stamp and my third card features the Buoys Stencil with the Waves Background Stamp.
For my first card I inked the Nautical Stripes Stencil pattern on smooth white cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue Ink. The Anchors Background Stamp was stamped over the stenciled design with Surf Blue Ink for a tone-on-tone look.
A Simon Says Stamp Frames Die was die cut from the background and from Soft Navy Cardstock. The background was inlaid onto a white top fold card base as shown to instantly add interest and a border to the design.
A sentiment from the Say It All Friend Stamp Set was stamped over the background with Soft Navy Ink.
The Thanks Frame Die and Anchor Die were die cut from Surf Blue, Soft Navy, and Frosted Silver cardstocks, inlaid and/or layered and adhered as shown. Lawn Fawn Natural Lawn Trimmings twine was threaded through the top of the anchor and knotted.
Red heart accents were added to the card to complete the design.
For my second card I inked the Nautical Stripes Stencil pattern on smooth white cardstock with Soft Navy Ink. The Anchors Background Stamp was stamped over the stenciled design with Soft Navy Ink for a tone-on-tone look.
A Simon Says Stamp Frames Die was die cut from the background and from Hero Hues Cranberry Cardstock. The background was inlaid onto a white top fold card base as shown to instantly add interest and a border to the design.
The Anchor Tag Die was die cut from smooth white cardstock and Hero Hues Cranberry Cardstock. A sentiment from the Say It All Friend Stamp Set was stamped on the tag with Soft Navy Ink.
The tag was adhered to the design with foam adhesive and Glossy Accents was added to the anchor, finishing the top of the design with a white heart accent.
Lawn Fawn Natural Lawn Trimmings twine was threaded through the top of the tag and knotted.
My final card share today features the Buoys Stencil and multiple ink colors for this awesome background. The buoys were stenciled with Duckling, Chili Pepper, Surf Blue, and Soft Navy inks. Sponge Daubers were used to do the inking and Post It Tape to mask off areas quickly and easily. The was stamped over the buoys with Surf Blue ink.

Great cards Nichol! They would be perfect masculine cards too! I've heard that the thermoweb pixie spray is perfect for holding those intricate stencils in place so they don't shift.
Thanks for sharing, now I need to go shopping! :)
