I can't get enough of tri-fold cards. The bees in the Simon Says Stamp Bee Happy Stamp Set are a nice big size and because I wanted to use multiple bees I decided an extended scene tri-fold card was just the thing. Greetings from the same stamp set and the Honey Bee Stamps Birthday Stamp Set and Hexagon Patterns Stencils were the perfect thing to compliment the sweet bees!

Watch the creation of this bee happy birthday extended scene tri-fold card from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
A 9" x 12" piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock was trimmed to 5 1/2" x 12.
The background was stenciled with Wild Honey Distress Ink and a Honey Bee Stamps Hexagon Pattern. I purposely inked some of the areas darker than others for interest.
Greetings from the Honey Bee Stamps Birthday Stamp Set and Simon Says Stamp Bee Happy Stamp Set were stamped over the background with Wild Honey Distress Oxide Ink. Images from the Simon Says Stamp Bee Happy Stamp Set were stamped directly over the stenciling with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.
Because the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Distress Inks are both water based, it's easy to color over a lightly stenciled background without stamping and masking first. I love how much time this saves!
The following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker color combinations were used to color the images:
- Bees: Natural Gray, Warm Gray 2, Pink Haze, English Lavender, Mustard, Blender
- Hearts: Carmine Red, Light Carmine
- Cupcake: Cobalt Blue, Light Blue, Mustard, Blender, Peach Pink, Sugared Almond Pink, Bright Yellow
- Honey Pot: Mid Brown, Oatmeal, Peach Pink, Sugared Almond Pink, Mustard, Blender
Butterflies: Peach Pink, Sugared Almond Pink, Light Blue, Natural Gray
A Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle Pen was used to add subtle sparkle to the bees' wings.
White and black pen detail was added to the eyes on the bees. More white pen highlights were added to the bees and other images for detail.
The Scor Pal was used to scor the panel at 4" and 8" and folded to complete the design.

What did you use to cut your paper with? It looked like a sewing item.
