Today I'm combining the brand new Paper Layering Poinsettia and Noel Print Bold Prints background with Christmas Messages sentiments and lots of Hero Hues cardstock and inks for this elegant holiday card and matching gift tag!
To create the background for my design I stamped the Noel Print Bold Prints background on Hero Hues Pebble Cardstock with the Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with Platinum Embossing Powder. The background for the card was trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4". The edges of the background were inked with Sea Salt Reactive Ink and then the extra ink was buffed away with a dry rag. The background was spritzed with Hero Arts Iridescent Shimmer Spray for subtle distressed sparkle.
Paper Layering Poinsettia dies were die cut from Hero Hues Cranberry, Meadow, and Dove White cardstock. The petals of the poinsettia were inked with Sea Salt Reactive Ink. The edges of the leaves were inked with Green Apple Reactive Ink and then all over with Sea Salt Reactive Ink. The petals on the flowers and leaves were all bent to give depth and dimension. The flowers were assembled with three layers were flower. The flowers were adhered to the card as shown.
A strip of vellum was trimmed and stamped with a Christmas Sentiment using the Embossing & Watermark Ink and White Detail Embossing Powder. The vellum was purposely left longer than the card panel so it could be wrapped around and adhered to the back, leaving the front free with no messy adhesive!
The panel was adhered to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Pebble Cardstock using foam adhesive.
The design was finished with a scattering of Snow & Berry Sequins. The center of the poinsettias were adorned with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Honey Gold.
For the tag, two Infinity Tags were die cut from Pebble Cardstock. On one, the Noel Print Bold Prints was stamped and embossed like the card. On the other, "to" and "from" from the Christmas Messages was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. The vellum "wrap" ends are hidden between the two tag layers! The top of the tag was finished with a hole reinforcer die cut from Cranberry Cardstock and some jute twine.

Wow, I'm so impressed. I've never cared for the poinsettia dies, stamps, etc and these I love. Thank you for the lesson in using the white ink for that soft and varied look, for making the whole process look easy, fun and relatively fast. And for using the new Noel background stamp that I'm crazy about.
