These cards all feature mermaids or mermaid tails of some sort. Perfect for summer! Two cards feature the Make Waves Stamp Set and coordinating dies and the third features a shaker window adorned with the Sparkle Mermaid Tail Die.
For my first card the fish from the Make Waves Stamp Set were stamped and masked with masking paper. The background was inked using Mermaid Lagoon, Weathered Wood, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot Distress Inks. Water from a Distress Sprayer was splattered over the background for distressing. The masks were removed and the fish were colored in with Copic Markers.
A sentiment from the Make Waves Stamp Set was stamped with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. A mermaid image and crab image from the Make Waves Stamp Set was stamped, colored, and die cut with the coordinating Make Waves Dies. The images was adhere to the scene with foam adhesive. A scattering of Splash Zone Sequins were applied throughout the background.
For my second card, a background was die cut from FSJ Beach Breeze Cardstock and embossed with the FSJ Layered Scallops Embossing Folder. Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks were lightly applied to the background, the ink darkening the embossed areas a bit. Splatters of FSJ Turbo Teal Silk were splattered over the background.
A sentiment from the Make Waves Stamp Set was stamped with with Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks, trimmed into thin strips, and adhered to the background with foam adhesive as shown.
A scattering of Splash Zone Sequins were applied throughout the background.
For my final card share today I created a shaker window from smooth white cardstock using an oval die. The window was backed with acetate and stamped with a sentiment from the Make Waves Stamp Set using Cotton White Staz-On Ink. A background was inked with Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot Distress Ink and splattered with water from a Distress Sprayer. The window was backed with foam adhesive and filled with Splash Zone Sequins before being backed with the inked panel.
The Sparkle Mermaid Tail Die was die cut from smooth white cardstock and inked with Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks. The flat layer was dipped in a glue pad and prisma glitter was applied over the surface. The detailed mermaid tail was adhered to the solid tail and then adhered to the window of the shaker as shown. A few additional Splash Zone Sequins were applied to the front of the card to finish the design.
