Hello weekend! If you're like me and working to finish up those last holiday cards, I have a great card design to share today that works great created "assembly-line style", meaning making multiples is a snap! Yay! Gotta love a card design that is easy to repeat multiple times and still look great! I adore this Winter Floral Layering Stencil Set from Simon Says Stamp. I want to stencil layer all the things now!

Watch the creation of this trio of stencil layering and inlay frame Christmas cards from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
The backgrounds were trimmed from Lawn Fawn Fog Cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
The Winter Floral Layering Stencil Set was used to stencil the background. Pinkfresh Studio inks were applied with ink blending brushes in the following colors:
Flowers: Berrylicious, Candy Apple, Gathered Twigs
Leaves: Olive, Gathered Twigs
Branches: Evergreen
Flower Centers: Marigold
The Good Reading Background was stamped over the stenciled background with White Pigment Ink. I love the subtle text in the background. I love this background stamp because it's not perfectly formed words. It's a mash up of text that adds the perfect amount of distressing. If you prefer a little less distressed look you can always skip this step.
A new A2 Thin Frames Die was used to die cut a frame from the custom background. The die was also used to die cut Hero Hues Palm Cardstock. The stenciled frame was discarded and the outer frame, thin Palm frame, and inside rectangle were inlaid onto a white top fold card base. These skinny frame dies are my favorite! I am loving this new die set!
The Joyful Die was die cut from Hero Hues Cranberry Cardstock three times and adhered one on top of another. The Joyful outline was die cut from Lawn Fawn Fog Cardstock. The stacked greeting was adhered to the light gray one and adhered to the card base as shown.
A sentiment from the Ho Ho Postage Stamp Set was stamped on Palm cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder. The phrase was die cut with a Nested Banner Die and adhered to the background with foam adhesive.
The design was finished with Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold.

Really beautiful. I wouldn’t have thought to add the background stamp, but such a great idea!
Nichol, do you have any photos of your craft room or better yet a craft room tour video? I ‘m always interested in seeing what rooms look like, no matter how messy!
Thank you for sharing your talent.

I don’t have one yet. I have it on my list to do but it will likely be after the new year. I still haven’t gotten everything hung since my move a few months ago.

This has to be my favorite thing I've watched you make -- and I've watched a lot. Love the use of the background die after doing the gorgeous stenciling. Fabulous touch that really brought it up to a higher level. LOVE the thin border inset -- just fabulous. I can see where if I did it once there'd be no going back. TY TY TY for a great video.

This is gorgeous. Love the background showing on the flowers, the shading and the classic colors you paired together, with a touch of gold. Beautiful result.
