Hello friends! Today I'm sharing ideas on creating grassy backgrounds with stencils, dies, and Copic Markers. I am combining the Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside Stencils, Cattails Border Die, and Copic coloring for this sweet little thank you scene card!

I love a good scene card that has minimal layers. Anyone else? These are more "mail friendly" and tend to make the trip from my mailbox to the recipient a little better! ;) Today's card features all my favorite things: cute Lawn Fawn critters, scene building, coloring, and no line coloring!
The card base was created by stenciling the Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside Stencils with Celery Stick and Freshly Cut Grass inks on a card base. A touch of Merman Ink was applied to the very tippy top of the card for the "sky".
The Stitched Pond Frame Dies were die cut from smooth white cardstock. The pond was inked with Merman Ink and Peacock Ink. The cattails, lily pad, flower, and grass were colored with the following Copic Marker Color Combinations:
- Cattails: YG11, YG13, YG17, E55, E57
- Grass: YG11, YG13, YG17
- Lily Pad: G00, G02, G09
- Flower: RV00, RV04, RV09
The Cattails Border Die was die cut from smooth white cardstock and colored in with YG11, YG13, YG17. Sentiments from the Swan Soiree Stamp Set were stamped on the border with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The border was adhered to the background as shown and the individual die cut images were tucked around and in the pond to complete the background scene.
- Swan: W00, W3, YR00, YR04
- Babies: E71, E81, YR00, YR04
The images were die cut with the coordinating dies and adhered to the scene as shown.
