Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!
Today I'm showcasing brand new Mama Elephant stamps and dies from the May 2020 Release to create this lovely Botanic Envelope Card. Background die cutting, masking, inking, stenciling, and texture are the perfect way to showcase this envelope full of beautiful botanicals!

I wanted to created a soft and subtle background to really highlight the Botanic Envelope and Stems and Sprigs images. I started by die cutting the Frilly Window Frame Cuts Die from smooth white cardstock and inking Pinkfresh Studio Sky Blue and Summer Shower inks on the panel using the Trinity Stamps A2 Foundations Rectangle Stencil as a mask.
Without removing the mask, the Heffy Doodle Brick By Brick Stencil was placed over the top and Ranger Grit Paste was applied using a palette knife. I purposely didn't apply an "even" application of the Grit Paste so the bricks have a bit more of an "aged" character! The masks were removed and the masks and palette knife washed immediately with warm water to remove any excess Grit Paste.
Flowers from the Stems and Sprigs were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jellyfish Ink and colored in with the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers:
- Red: Deep Red, Red, Light Carmine, Green, Light Green
- Pink: Red, Peach Pink, Sugared Almond Pink, Green, Light Green
- Purple: Deep Violet, Violet, Light Violet, Green, Light Green
- Yellow Orange: Scarlet Red, Bright Yellow, Yellow, Green, Light Green
The flowers were die cut with the coordinating Stems and Sprigs dies and the flowers and greenery were tucked into the Botanic Envelope. The envelope was adhered to the background with foam adhesive and the entire panel was adhered to a white top fold card base to finish the design.
