Today I'm revisiting a fun technique I haven't done for awhile, watercoloring with Distress Inks! I used the gorgeous new So Beautiful Background Stamp and added sympathy sentiments. The great thing about this background is that it can be used for any theme or occasion!

Watch the creation of this Distress Ink watercolored sympathy card from start to finish below or click HERE to watch in HD:
The So Beautiful Background Stamp was stamped on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
The flowers were watercolored with Distress Inks and a water brush pen. The background was watercolored with Cracked Pistachio Re-inker and a water brush pen. I allowed the background to completely air dry before die cutting with a Basic Rectangles Die.
The panel was adhered to a side fold card base with foam adhesive.

Great card! Love the versatility of this background stamp. Love this technique too as I don't have the skill or talent for watercoloring, but using Distress Inks helps me fake it a bit.
This is a beautiful sympathy card! It would be fun to create in different colors and have on hand for other occasions too. Thanks for the great inspiration!
So glad you re-visited this great technique with this beautiful stamp. I really enjoyed watching you watercolor! I liked your white gel pen highlights at the end!
I never would have thought to use such bright colors for a sympathy card, but then I thought how nice it would be to open such a pretty, thoughtful card at a sad time. Very beautiful!
I love this beautiful card. Sympathy cards are so hard to do, but this one is so pretty and yet still appropriate. I often do greys or browns, but this encourages me to try other colors.
