I started this card by stamping the images from the Chillin' Gnomes Stamp Set on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The images were colored in with Karin Brushmarker Pro Markers and a medium water brush pen. I used the following colors of Karin Brushmarker Pro colors for the images:
- 201 Skin 2
- 375 Cerise
- 209 Red
- 357 Pale Orange
- 216 Almond
- 283 Gold
- 269 Sulphur Yellow
- 253 Grass
- 621 Sky Blue
- 247 Pale Violet
- 174 Sandstone
- 278 Warm Grey 1
- 158 Cool Grey 3
The images were die cut with the coordinating Chillin' Gnomes dies.
For the background, I trimmed smooth white cardstock to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and taped the largest A2 Foundations Rectangle 6x6 Stencil to the front of the cardstock. This panel is going to instantly "frame up" the scene giving it the look of being matted on another piece of cardstock but it's all one layer! This is the magic of stencils!
Masking Tape was used to mask the top of the card from the bottom. A Lawn Fawn Hillside Stencil was used with Distress Oxide Ink in Antique Linen for the "sand" along the bottom of the scene. The stencil was flipped over and used to mask off the sand so that Distress Oxide Inks in Speckled Egg and Mermaid Lagoon could be used to create the "water". Leaving the mask in place for the sand, the Simon Says Stamp Waves Stencil was used with the same blue Distress Oxide colors to give the water "waves".
The masking tape was moved to cover the water and Distress Oxide Inks in Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade were used to add color to the "sky". The MFT Ray of Light Stencil was used to add detail to the sky with the addition of Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink.
The masks were removed to reveal the layered stenciled beach scene background.
The Good Vibes Wafer Thin Die was die cut from the sky of the background.
The Chillin' Gnomes images were glued in placed as shown.
The greeting shadow was die cut from smooth white cardstock. The die cut greeting was adhered to the shadow. The greeting was placed over the sky, lining up the sun rays and overlapping the tall mushroom "umbrella".
A greeting from the Chillin' Gnomes was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The phrase was die cut with a Nested Banners Die and adhered to the design with foam adhesive.
Glossy Accents was applied to the die cut sentiment. Little Things Sprinkles Shooting Stars were adhered to the sky. Some were placed in the Glossy Accents. More Glossy Accents was added to the sunglasses.
