Welcome to the Mama Elephant Design Team blog hop!
Today I'm showcasing how to use the brand new Mega Flipper Creative Cuts Dies to make this out of this world interactive birthday flipper card! The Mega Flipper is a larger size of the previously released Flip Slider Creative Cuts Dies. Want to see the original dies in action? Check out THIS post. I love the larger size of the flip slider. You can even fit a gift card in this size to make it extra special! Let's get started!

THE BACKGROUND
The Mega Flipper components (flipper and panel) were die cut from Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy Cardstock. The edges of the panels were masked with low tack tape and Distress Oxide Inks in Speckled Egg and Black Soot were applied to the cardstock. Each panel was splattered with Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust for a "galaxy" effect.
The panels were adhered to the tabs on the Mega Flipper as shown in the video above.
Note Any stamping that needs to be done to the panels (i.e. the sentiment and lines coming from the back of the rockets) should be done before attaching the panels to the Mega Flipper. I stamped the greeting and images from the Little Agenda Spaceship Stamp Set with clear embossing ink and heat set with white embossing powder.
The Night Sky Cover was die cut from Simon Says Stamp Soft Navy Cardstock. The edges of the panels were masked with low tack tape and Distress Oxide Inks in Speckled Egg, Wilted Violet, Black Soot were applied to the cardstock. The panel was spritzed with water in a Distress Sprayer and allowed to dry. The panel was backed with silver glitter cardstock.
The Mega Flipper was adhered to the background as shown.
FINISHING THE CARD
Images from the Little Agenda Spaceship Stamp Set were stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock with Lawn Fawn Jellyfish no line coloring ink and colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The following color combinations were used for each image:
- Rockets: Wine Red, Blush, Peacock Blue, Shadow Mauve, Bright Yellow, Yellow, Blue Gray, Blue Haze
- Earth: Blue, Light Blue, Light Green, Yellow Green, Pale Pink
- Moon: Natural Gray, Gray Tint, Pale Pink
- Stars: Bright Yellow, Yellow
- Bunnies: Natural Gray, Gray Tint, Pale Pink
- Dogs: Mid Brown, Beige
- Cats: Brown, Light Brown, Natural Gray, Gray Tint, Pale Pink
The images were die cut with the coordinating Little Agenda Spaceship Dies and adhered to each panel.
The pull tab from the Mega Flipper was die cut from silver sparkle cardstock and red colored cardstock. The die cuts were added to the pull tab to show the recipient where to pull to make the interactive element work.
Mini star confetti was adhered to each panel with a bit of liquid glue.
A greeting from the Inside Birthday Wishes Stamp Set was stamped on the back of the Mega Flipper with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
