Happy Wednesday, friends! Today I'm joining a few friends for the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit Mini Blog Hop! The August Card Kit is so good that we came up with a few more fun ideas to try with your kit!

CLEAR EMBOSSED RESIST
This technique is going to work best with a stamp positioner tool like the MISTI.
I first put the sun rays image from the Hello Sunshine Stamp Set in the MISTI and stamped it on a 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of smooth white cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Ink. Without removing the stamp, I cleaned it really good and then stamped right over the colorful stamping with a clear embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder over the top. This "seals" in the color and will create a barrier for the stenciling I'm going to do over the top of the design.
Next, I placed the large sentiment in my MISTI and using post it notes to mask off each line of text, I stamped the greeting with Simon Says Stamp inks in Green Apple, Audrey Blue, Blue Jay, Watermelon, and Orange Slush. Again, without removing the stamp from my MISTI, I cleaned the colorful ink off and stamped the greeting with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
A smaller phrase from the Hello Sunshine Stamp Set was stamped with Black Ink, cleaned, stamped with clear embossing ink, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
Finally a heart was stamped with Watermelon ink, cleaned, stamped with clear embossing ink, and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
THE REST OF THE CARD
Images from the Summertime BBQ Stamp Set were stamped on the panel with Hero Arts Intens-ified Ink as shown.
The Simon Says Stamp Clouds For Days Stencil was stenciled to the panel and over the clear embossed images with Audrey Blue ink using a blending brush.
The images were colored in with the following Copic Markers:
- Grill: R24, R29, R56, C6, C8
- Hot Dogs: E08, E09
- Hamburger: E55, E57
- Chicken: E08, E09, E81
- Grill Tool: C4, C6, B34, B37
The panel was trimmed to 2" wide. A Simon Says Stamp Grassy Edges Die was used to die cut the Bar-B-Cute Patterned Paper and adhered along the bottom of the strip.
The strip was mounted on black cardstock and adhered to a 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" slimline card base. Simple strips from a Bar-B-Cute Patterned Paper were trimmed and adhered along the edges of the design for a pop of color.

Slimline cards are ever so popular and yours with the pun sentiment is wonderful. Like the variety of cards with other stamps in kit that you have persuaded me to order the kit.

OMG what an awesome card. Love all the details and how you masked the sentiment to get different colors. The skinny strips around the panel add so much to the cheery sunny card. The stamped panel would make a cute bookmark too. Thanks for the great video and including the very detailed instructions as well as the Copics used.

Adorable card! Love those hardworking little ants. Thanks for the reminder about the resist technique. I hate masking and try to avoid it whenever possible but I had completely forgotten about this technique. Thanks to you I'll start using it again right away.

Excellent work explaining how you made these fabulous cards. I love that you clear embossed many parts so that they would last longer and have a better visual impact. You really showed a lot of the items in the set from SSS. Congrats on an outstanding item for your post.
