Welcome to the June 2022 edition of my Simon Says Stamp monthly series, Making the Cut! This series featuring all things die cutting. This month I am sharing a butterfly slimline foiling card with matching stenciled envelope. Detail stenciling, text stamping, inking, and Distress Grit Paste through a stencil add the perfect textured backdrop for the beautiful foiled butterflies.

For the background, a Simon Says Stamp Slimline Nested Rectangle was used to die cut smooth white cardstock.
The Simon Says Stamp Fading Florals Stencil was placed over the background and stenciled with Waffle Flower Shader Brushes and Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Sunbeam, Citrine, Sherbet, Sprout, and Fairway.
A bit of Sprout ink was blended around the edges. The Simon Says Stamp Good Reading Background was lightly stamped over the stenciling for a bit of distressing.
The stencil was cleaned off, replaced over the design and a bit of Translucent Grit Paste was applied through the stencil. The Grit Paste goes on a bit opaque but the Translucent Grit Paste will dry clear. I love the texture this adds to the design.
The Simon Says Stamp Dancing Butterflies Hot Foil Plates and Dies were foiled on Hammermill Cardstock with Spellbinders Polished Brass Foil, inked with Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Inks in Carnation, Peony, Cantaloupe, Sherbet, Watermelon, Cherry, Cheeky, and Blush, and die cut with the coordinating dies.
The butterflies were adhered to the background panel as shown.
Greetings from the Simon Says Stamp Love Garden Greetings Stamps and Dies were stamped on smooth white cardstock with black ink and die cut with the coordinating dies and SSS Sentiment Labels Dies. The greetings were adhered to the card with foam adhesive. The pane was secured to a Slimline Card Base.
A Simon Says Stamp envelope was stenciled to match the card.
