Hello friends! Today I am thrilled to be joining Altenew Paint-A-Flower Carnations Release Blog Hop! You should be arriving from Kelly Griglione blog. For my cards today I am sharing a fun no masking technique of coloring over ink smooshing with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! This technique lends itself to beautiful results. Finishing touches of a foiled gold frame, gold embossed greeting, embossed sentiment strip, and heart accent complete this beautiful card. Let's get started!

THE BACKGROUND
I wanted my finished card to have an elegant glimmered foil frame. I am addicted to foiling and have been adding it to many, many cards lately! To do this, it needs to be the first step otherwise the foil can reheat the embossing and stick to the embossed areas which doesn't look great if that's not the look you want! (Ask me how I know! ha!)
Next, I stamped the Paint-A-Flower Carnations image around the perimeter of the panel with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I used Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Inks watered down with a spritz of water and leftover plastic packaging to "ink smoosh" the background. I love the imperfect watercolored effect this creates. It's one of my favorite techniques for backgrounds as it looks amazing!
I used the following Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color in the flowers:
Once the background is completely dry I stamped "Congratulations" from the Paint-A-Flower Carnations Stamp Set on the background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
Another phrase from the stamp set was stamped on Hero Arts Palm Cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The greeting was die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Nested Banners Die and adhered to the background with foam adhesive.
A small heart accent was adhered under the greetings and the panel was adhered to a white top fold card base to finish the design.

The floral image was repeatedly stamped around the perimeter of the colored cardstock panel using a black ink for Copic coloring. I colored these beauties in with Copic Markers on the light colored cardstock and stamped over the whole thing with white pigment ink using the new STAMPtember Old Letter Background. I'm always a sucker for a beautiful text background! I paired phrases from the Framed Friendship Stamp Set with the Simon Says Stamp Friend Dies for the sentiment.
There are very limited quantities available and it is ONLY available at Simon Says Stamp this STAMPtember while supplies last. Framed Friendship is anticipated to be one of the hottest sellers so grab yours quick before they're gone!

I heat set the ink to dry it fast and stamped the frame from the Framed Friendship Stamp Set was stamped over the background with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder. To make the frame even (only half stamps at a time), I stamped and embossed one half of the design, flipped the panel (not the stamp) in my MISTI, and stamped and embossed the other half.
The Simon Says Stamp Friend shadow was die cut from smooth white cardstock. The sentiment was die cut from smooth white cardstock adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive. The letters were colored in with the following Copic Markers:
Pink: RV52, RV55, RV66
Red: R30, R32, R35
Yellow: Y13, Y18, YR04
Mint: G00, G02, G09
Green: YG21, YG13, YG17
Aqua: BG11, BG13, BG18
The greetings were all added to the card with foam adhesive.

I wanted to showcase this gorgeous new Bloom & Grow Stamp Set floral on a color of cardstock you might not ordinarily think of. The Hero Hues Adriatic Cardstock was the perfect choice. The vibrant, rich color is one of my absolute favorites! The floral was stamped in the bottom left corner and the upper right using the Embossing & Watermark Ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The leaves were stamped in the bottom right corner and a sentiment from the set was also stamped and embossed as shown.

I repeatedly stamped the floral all over a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock, embossed with gold embossing powder and watercolored the design and background with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
The Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember with Dainty Sprig floral was repeatedly stamped on Bristol Smooth Cardstock, completely covering an A2 sized panel using clear embossing ink and heat setting with Antique Gold Embossing Powder. The images were watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush pen. I used several brand new Zig colors in my coloring today for this light and elegant look! The Pale Orange, Vanilla, and Pale Yellow were fantastic additions and lightened the look of this background perfectly!
I did a light wash of color all over the background around the florals with Green Shadow to give the background more color.
Clustered Leaves was die cut from vellum and attached to the center of the background panel.
The card was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Pale Gold and Morning Dew.

Welcome to the Altenew December 2017 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop hosted by the Altenew Card Blog!
The newest release is now available in the Altenew Online Store HERE. Lots of amazing stamps and dies and an incredible mini die cutting machine! The Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine is the compact and portable must-have tool for your craft room! It is designed to work with Altenew dies (sold separately) and other wafer-thin metal dies. It can be used to quickly and easily die cut a variety of materials, including cardstock and Altenew specialty papers, and will help you add texture and dimension to your projects. The elegant and clean design will look wonderful on your craft desk, secured on its stable base with suction feet. It's small size makes it perfect for on-the-go crafts as it light and easily transported! The machine measures 6" x 4 1/2" plus handle with 3" x 6 1/4" cutting plates. I used this new die cutting machine for all my die cutting today!
For my first card I applied Meadow Alcohol Ink to some Yupo paper, adding plenty of Blending Solution and tipped the paper up to almost 90 degrees letting the ink run down the paper. I repeated this until I got the "watercolored" looking background look I was going for. I set the background aside to dry while I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Flower Arrangement Stamp Set.
The Hello greeting from the Flower Arrangement Dies was die cut from white cardstock adhered to Fun Foam with Stick It Adhesive and adhered to the card as shown. The new die cut this dimensional material with one pass of the machine! So awesome!
An additional sentiment from the Peony Spray Stamp Set was stamped on smooth white cardstock with Jet Black ink, trimmed into a thin strip. and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
The card was finished with a scattering of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew and Pale Gold.
My second card also features and Alcohol Inked background. This background was created with Aqua Alcohol ink and plenty of Blending Solution. The paper was tipped at an angle, re-inked, and tipped the other way to create this background. I was trying to create amazing backgrounds with a single color of alcohol ink and I am really happy with the results!
This card features the adorable mushroom images from Love You So Mush Stamp Set and coordinating dies stamped in rainbow color with Distress Oxide Inks. These cheerful and bright mushrooms pop against the pale aqua background!

Congratulations to Kirsty Vittetoe! I've emailed you with instructions!
I just got back from a fantastic weekend spent with sixteen women who love paper crafting as much as I do! My heart is full with love and gratitude for these amazing women and the wonderful memories we shared! I've been super lucky over the years to spend crafty weekends with many card makers, scrapbookers, and paper crafters. Some of my dearest friendships have formed from this crazy wonderful hobby.
For my card share today, I created a rainbow halftone card inspired by the rainbow stairs and decor at the Whatever Craft House from our retreat! The Halftone Hearts were stamped using the Rock 'n Roll Technique and Distress Oxide Inks, overlapping the hearts for interest. This technique works especially well with pigment inks and is one of my favorites! I love seeing how it looks with the amazing Oxide inks!
A greeting from the Crafty Friends Stamp Set was stamped over the largest heart using black Versafine Ink as shown. An additional greeting from the Crafty Friends Stamp Set was stamped on black cardstock using Versamark Ink, heat embossed with white embossing powder and trimmed into a thin strip before being adhered under the other greeting.
The strip was trimmed to 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" and adhered to a 3" x 5 1/2" strip of black cardstock.
I felt like the background was a little plain so I stamped the smaller greeting phrase repeatedly on the card base using the same colors of Distress Oxide Ink as the hearts, creating a rainbow text background.
