Welcome to the next collaboration for Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember, Tim Holtz 2019 Stamp Set & Stencil!
Throughout STAMPtember we will be celebrating every day posting exclusive collaborations, contests, prizes, special promotions, announcements, and more surprises! Simon’s blog will announce what we have planned every day.
Today's card features the STAMPtember 2019 exclusive from Tim Holtz featuring Halloween images. I used a stamped image, masked the bat, inked and stenciled the background, and then removed the mask and watercolored the bat with the leftover Distress Oxide Inks from my stencil!
To start my card I used a stamped image (thank you Laurie Willison for stamping for me while we were at retreat!) and then I masked the image with masking paper. Once masked, I inked around the image with Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks. I used blending tools to get the seamless blend, keeping the yellow "moon" towards the center of the panel behind the bat.
I spritzed the background with water from a Distress Sprayer, blotted it dry and then applied the same Distress Oxide Ink colors over the background using the STAMPtember 2019 stars stencil.
Black paint was splattered over the background and allowed to completely air dry.
I removed the mask from the bat and using a water brush pen I picked up leftover Distress Oxide Ink from the stars stencil and painted the bat with the same colors as the background!
A black glaze pen and white pen were used to add detail to the eyes. The eyes are always an important part of any critter in making the face really pop!
The sentiment was stamped on black cardstock with clear embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder, trimmed into a thin strip, and adhered to the card with foam adhesive.
